Bros get respect on the highway, these additional doodads run soccer moms straight the hell out of the passing lane.

The first time I saw a Taco with the raptor lights installed I thought it was a new model thing. Didn't realize at first it was a mod. I think they do help with visibility around dusk/dawn when DRL's are on and not headlights.

    It's complicated.
Correct: "ONE" of the purposes of this forum is to ask questions and get useful information... the OTHER purpose is to get smartass responses.

YOU got the bonus plan, baby!

How do you equate lights on a vehicle required by DOT due to width being copied onto a vehicle that’s half the size and has no need for them the same as DRLs or ditch lights or BHLM?

Don't over think it. They are purely aesthetic. Show me one listing for Raptor lights that even has the lumen output and I'll give you a gold star. The white lights don't produce enough light to interfere with low beams and would have a minor impact on driving in fog, it would likely not be noticeable. If someone furnishes evidence to the contrary, I'll change my tune.

That being said, they are not fog lights, they are accent lighting and any perceived benefit you may receive from them would be purely coincidental.

Because you said that, and because some think they serve a purpose outside of looks, I just bought a set. @Btaco73, I will install it on Wednesday when they arrive. I'll bite the the $30 bullet to prove a point. lol

They are imo for looks only, I think they look great, I personally like 4 across. I run the smoke Amber colored lights. I had the non tinted ones at first but they stood out way too much. The tinted ones look best. It's a cheap mod, use them for a while and take them out. Enjoy them.

Personally I don’t care for the look with the lights, but hey it’s your rig do what you want. On a side note looks like we lost the OP.

I think you may actually be supporting me here :)

    They don’t equate. Totally unnecessary.

Tacos don’t need raptor lights, DRLs, or BHLM. We add them so we can wake up and feel sexy in the morning.

Ditch lights are useful. The retrofit upgrades that go along with BHLM are useful.

Thought experiment: Let’s say those little amber lights never got included on a Raptor. Let’s say they were just a cool little project MESO whipped up for us. Would we still be calling blasphemy on folks who wanted to add them to their Pro grill?

I have seen that video before. That’s a LOT of weight crashing down. I always wondered if the truck was totaled after this crazy stunt with the airbags going off, suspension collapsed, roof wrinkled, etc.

I live in a small town in Eastern North Carolina. I only remember seeing 1 Ford Raptor around town. My SR5 Tacoma is the only Taco that I know of locally with Raptor style grill lights. Ya ain't gotta have a Pro grill.

Maybe this’s been covered and I missed it while reading through, but does anyone have an answer to adding Raptor-style lights to a 2020 TRD O/R grille? I don’t mind the grille as is, so please don’t bother suggesting switching over to a Pro-style grille.

It's probably going to be a DIY project. I haven't seen an off the shelf package for an Off Road. I remember a couple guys installing lights in earlier year Off Roads. Haven't seen a 2020 yet. You can be one of the first ! It's not a difficult DIY project BTW.

Here's a link to one OR that I remember: (there are others as well, probably in the same thread)

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-raptor-lights-15-30.548155/page-2#post-17795876

Good luck ! We need pictures when you're done.

You could switch over to a Pro style grille and get raptor lights. lol

You'd have to DIY as @Tullie D said. There aren't any off-the-shelf solutions for your grill.
