Depends on what room you are putting it in. Linoleum though is the shit. It will last 75 years at least. you can do the whole floor in 5 minutes, and if you don't like the look it was only $25.00 so you change it!

There are Pro's and Con's with both types. But if you are paying to have it laid I would look at engineered laminates. Installation is a lot easier. Easier = cheaper. Some of the warranties are longer than you will like it.

Yes I would say so I laid hardwood in our house a couple years ago. The laminate I’d do in a rental property or garage perhaps. There is tile that looks like wood it’s pretty knifty.

In all honesty it really depends. You can get really good laminate and really cheap laminate. I used engineered hardwoods in my flip houses and I used it in the house I had built. The major difference is you can get more sandings it of hardwoods than you can a laminate. With a good laminate you can refinish once and then you’re going to pop through the “wood” layer usually.

I’ve been looking at the wood look tile more lately but I would rather lay wood floors than tile (just faster and easier on me). I may do some in wet areas in our next house though. I’m lucky my wife would rather have carpet in the living room and bedrooms. :)

I’ll be quite dead by the time I wear thru this 5/8” Maple. Got a hell of a deal from someone who once worked for a furniture co. Refinished with sealer & gym floor top coat. Wears like iron.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I did hand scraped at my last house we built. Loved that stuff. We went high end to make sure the dogs nails didn’t kill it. After 4 years a good cleaning and polish hid everything.

I did leave for 3 days while the finish dried ‘n cured. Fumes were pretty bad even tho it was water based gym finish.
