    TW whaddup,

My wife and I are going to drive cross country to see cool stuff, possibly with our dog. If we are going from South Florida to the West Coast and back, we will need a vehicle capable to do it.

Edit: not doing cross country until we are can afford to take a few months and do it right. But short trips have been keeping us entertained until then.

We have already hit up the Appalachians and we've already learned a ton from exploring around the Florida swamp.

This is a thread to time capsule the build and our trips (the first one won't have the dog, sorry). I own a video production company so I'll try to keep good content flowing. Feel free to tear me apart, I'm a fan of internet sarcasm

    Progress:

    IMG_3141.HEIC.jpg IMG_3142.HEIC.jpg

Upgraded to the new Poly Bushing JBA HD HC UCA
***Important*** I Had to lift the front end coilovers a little over an 1" and do a Cab Mount Chop to avoid rubbing on the same wheel/tire setup I had before. After the Caster Degree change the front tires hit their max backspacing.
TL/DR upgrading UCA's is way more work than expected.

Nice looking truck. I like the wheels and tire combo. There is also a builds forum for third gens you can check out.

Dude tell me about it. I'm pretty annoyed bc now if I want to switch it with AALs I'll have to double pay for labor. I wish I would've been more knowledgeable when he recommended it. Until the suspension build gets more serious I'll hold off on AALs

Enjoy, man. I did something similar to what you are doing back in 2009 but it was just me and my dog and I did the trip in a 2002 Honda Accord! My work was about to cash me out I had so much vacation but the boss was kind enough to let me take a full month off instead.

We ended up sleeping in a ton of state parks, getting to see a bunch of landmarks, hiking all over the place, and visiting like 30 states. I had a blast.

Sounds cool but a month isn’t a lot of time to see the country.

Youre right there. Ive traveled a good amount, just haven’t had a serious outside adventure in a while. There are a ton of state parks we both want to experience so hopefully we can cross some off the list. Besides, there can be multiple trips after this one as long as i dont break too much on the truck

He’s right... 1 month is almost no time at all, however anytime out is better than none. We spent 3 weeks last year just in Utah and it wasn’t enough, headed back again this Spring.

Have fun travel safe. Good luck with the build!

Wait till you get the truck loaded with what you plan to haul. Then you’ll know if you need 1 or 2 aal, of if a whole set of springs is a better route.

    Have fun!

Hey OP. I wasn’t here to bash your build thread or ruin it. I’m sorry if it came off that way. I just have an issue with people being a complete fuckhead towards someone who clearly is excited about his or her truck and modding it.

    Awesome build so far.

Edit. If you’re looking for some nice over-landing setup, @upTOPoverland has solid racks.

The Mods erased all of it. Long story short, some guy was being a prick towards you. Him and I got into it. He got banned by the Mods.
