Starting a new thread for 2020 for all Rolex 24 and Imsa fans.

Who will be at the track or watching?

Will this be anybody's first time at the track?
    How many people are returning'?

I've been going to the race for over 25 years and it gets better every year.

I love camping for the whole week. I've camped everywhere inside that infield for the race and Everytime it is a blast. Eventually we bought our slots in the RV area and we renew every year there.

I don't know how easily available slots are anymore. From what I understand there is a waitlist to get any camping slots inside.

No chance in hell we are getting rid of our slots. Lol

I wouldn't get rid of those slots either! We will be there for the pre-race events on Friday and will spend most of Saturday/Sunday there bumming around and enjoying the environment.

Don't worry our spots aren't going anywhere. It took almost 15 years to get all of the slots that we have together.

I will be there on Wednesday 6am for loading in our RVs until Monday afternoon when we leave.

Where in the "northeast" are you?

Central CT. I will be escaping cool weather but hopefully the weather in Daytona works to our benefit. last year it was warmer up her than it was down there.

Honestly with it , being winter I would rather it be cold right now in January so that I really feel like I'm leaving winter and going to Florida LOL.

Kinda sad. I live 33 miles from the Daytona Speedway, and have never been once.

You should definitely try to go at least on a Saturday/Sunday even if you don't go for the entire weekend. Since it's still January the sunsets about 6:30 p.m. it is very easy to see the cars transition into the night time racing and see them running in the dark without it having to be a super late night for you.

I found an article from January this year that talks about going to the Rolex during your lifetime even if you are not a crazy racing fan. And it sums it up pretty good.

The experience is more than worth the cost of the ticket. ( It's also a really cheap ticket considering what people pay for other sporting events with very limited access)

We set up camp yesterday. The weather was definitely much better today though. I even got in a little *sandals and t-shirt* time while walking around.
