I dont understand how that shit is legal. it feels terribly sheisty. I was with fitness connection for one month in houston, had a pic of the billboard that was like 1 month for $9.99 and they still managed to pry like $30USD out of me for other bullshit. I was in college at the time and jsut wanted a gym membership for the 3-4weeks of xmas break. I was frustrated but I paid in cash and only for that month so they werent getting anything more out of me.

    status check for me:

    1. Still doing stronglifts 5x5. Everything is feeling good but my squat. I think I am having similar form problems to @weldertaco where my chest slides forward and my ass out and stresses my lower back as the weight goes up. I have been working on my glute activation but as the weight has increased my form has deteriorated. Overhead press, barbell row, benchpress, deadlift all are getting heavier but I am not feeling my form deteriorate. I have even been enjoying doing many of my last sets to failure, sometimes just 1 extra rep, but sometimes 6 reps. Squats I barely make 25 and I am done.
    2. Accessory lifts have been awesome. I have def started to find somethings I like to throw in at the end of the 5x5 for added resistance and building. Some of my faves are farmer carry, hanging leg raises, DB curls (I especially like zottman curls, the burn from these feels so goooood), tricep pushdowns, hip thrusts, 2min situps for time, deadhangs, 2mins lunges for time, handstand wall lean for time, etc.
    3. My warmups need some work but normally I do a little cardio (jump rope, jumping jacks, burpees, etc.) and then do some glue activation.
going to keep working toward my goals by stretching, foam rolling, and most importantly keep moving those heavy objects around, my body included.

That's ridiculously lame... Typical gym owner who just wants your money and nothing else. I hate that shit. Reminds me of my gym... I am so disgusted with the owner and manager. They are extremely rude and their dumb shit signs they post everywhere are so condescending to all members. I have even confronted them about it and they get so defensive... grow up, learn to manage people.

Unfortunately, they also have the WORST cancellation fee ever. It's pay out your remaining months - yea at $55 a month for me and the Fiance, we have 6 months left....

NGL, I am probably going to block payments on them. Fuck them, cya in court you cock suckers (they wont' show up anyway, they can't even fucking say hi to any members, let alone make EFFORT TO GO TO FUCKING COURT)

They threatened to send me to collections over $15. I was a member for like 80hours lol. I’ve spent $15 on dumber shit in my life so I’m just chalking it up to another lesson learned about corporate gyms and why I want to open my own local gym one day

Luckily I got in at the gym I go to now when it was still month to month with no contract. A good friend back home owns 4 or 5 local gyms and does month to month with no contract ever. Seems like the best way to run a gym. If the gym is decent, folks will stay.

I have taken a couple planned days off working out to recoup from a very long week of probably too much working out and not enough sleep. My dad passed on new years so all of the business/emotions with that coupled with being back at work has really crushed my sleep/recovery cycle.

As I have mentioned before, I have pretty much been doing P90x for 6 months with some limited trips to the gym thrown in there. This has been the first 6 months of working out at all really. I am starting one of Jeff Cavaliere's programs at the end of the week. Really excited about that. I am comfortable enough now to not have to follow a video to do everything, but I am still hesitant/unsure of my ability to plan and execute a proper workout on my own. I think this new program will be a great stepping stone in the right direction.

It was bad. You know how hard it is to stay in the zone and focused whenever you have to stop to just look for dumb bells or wait for a spot to open up to lift? Kills it.

took my weld test yesterday and will know the results in 2-3 days. I pray that shit passed just so I can join the strongman gym that has less people and more free weights.

Have you tried being 6'4" and 312lbs?

You can pretty much do what you want and people stay out of your way :p

Well, everyone stays out of your way except for dumb ass kids lmao

Goals. Plus, I’m sure the weights and dumbbells you would use are ones that nobody else can pick up

I’m curious how you enjoy Jeffs program so please report back. His programs seem really focused on recomp which would be right up my alley when I’m ready to lift again.

I had my pre-surgery appointment this morning to go over my MRI results.

My meniscus is physically detaching from the bone. Good news, the meniscus itself is in great shape, the bad news is what was 3 weeks recovery is now 4 months.

    No races this year.

I’m so happy I got into fasting, because I do not want to get fat.
