I'm looking for a "seat cover" for my back seat, but not to cover the seat. Rather, when I fold up the seats and lay the seat backs down to take my dogs places, I'd like to have some sort of cover or liner that fits well and doesn't move. I know they sell "slings" for back seats, but I'm looking for something more form-fitting.

Anyone found anything like this or anyone had their wife/girlfriend make one? I've always just laid down blankets, but they never stay put and the backs of my front seats always get covered in hair.

Buy a small rug. Heavier and stiffer than a blanket, it won't slide around as much. Won't do anything about dog hair on the back of the front seats though...

I should try that. I always just throw a blanket over the seats but this might work better.

I bought these on ebay. It came as a complete set, but you may be able to get the backs only. They are nicely made and real easy to install so washing them would be a snap ( the fronts are a bit more difficult ). "Exact Seat Covers" There's an ebay store and website of the same name.

Sorry, I just re-read your post...primarily the part where you say "not to cover the seat".

No worries. To get what I want, I'm gonna have to go custom...

Hey Gene563, do recall the name of the Ebay Store that you ordered your seat covers from?

I know you said you fold the seats but here's my solution...

I use a bedsheet that covers the seats (both the cushions and the backs). I clip it in position with a couple of spring clamps ($1 from Home Depot) on the headrest posts. If the dog is wet, use a piece of plastic underneath. It's a cheap fix, but it works well (and who doesn't like cheap stuff with the financial crisis going on?!).

You could get second sheet and use it the same way to protect the back of the front seats.

I bought a topper instead. My dogs shed way too much for me to allow them anywhere near my cab.

I keep the back of my seats mostly hair free with a cover designed for kids' feet to keep the seat back clean. Got them at walmart. Not even sure what they are called.

Husky liner sells a liner for the back of the access cab (for when the seats are folded down) - don't know how/if it would fit the double cab seats. But it would keep the seats clean if you could get it to work

Are you satisfied with these seat covers? I bought my truck used and whoever had it before had a dog that did a number on the rear seat. I want to get seat covers, but not spend a ton of money on them. Are these worth it?

    illinois,
Yes, I am very satisfied with these. If you checked the link, they are relatively inexpensive for both front and back. The material is heavy weighted with a velour finish and they include all the headrest covers as well. They fit pretty well as you can see by the picture. I have noticed, on a positive note, that the seat bottoms get a bit wrinkled, but don't shift; after getting in/out, they remain in place. If you look at my gallery, I have a picture of the front cover...I added the Toyota emblem myself.

No, I ordered patches from this place and stitched them on.

    http://stores.ebay.com/JKW-Patch_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsxQ3asstQQtZkm

It was a cheap way to customize them.

BTW...It didn't say in the instructions, but to cover the front seats, I unbolted the seats ( 4 bolts each ) and laid them back. It made it much easier. If you have any questions, when the time comes, feel free to PM me.
