I have had my tires road forced balanced twice now and they were totally out of balance before and the RF made a huge difference and stopped the steering wheel shake and i had an alignment done and the truck does drive straight now. But since the alignment and road force was done last, it seems like when it is windy out the truck at highway speeds will all of the sudden become really really bumpy, like i am driving over the rumble strips on the side of the highway. It will happen at anytime, and any speed over 50 and will just come out of nowhere. I can drive by some spot one day on the highway and it will do it and the next day it won't. I really think its the wind and driving into it but idk.

The bumping isn't the same as the out of balance shake...its just bumpy and rough but the steering is still tight?

Are you on stock coils with the 5100's? maybe you need some aftermarket coils and lower down your 5100s a notch or two. The 5100s you got right now seem to be maxed out and if your using stock coils the ride could be the result of stiff ride.

up and down, and i have had the coils set that high for over a year now and this started last week. It seems like it will only be noticeable at highway speeds and i can be going on the highway in one direction and it will do it for a little then as soon as i hit a turn it will stop, then when i hit an opposite curve to set me back on my original course it may or may not start to imitate running over the rumble strips or not. The other day when there was no wind it didn't do it once...same route

Hmm... this is going to be one of the things I can't figure out unless Im actually there so it does have something to do with suspension right?

I don't know, could be time for new shocks?

Jump up and down on your tailgate, and than jump off. If it keeps moving around or moving up and down, time for new shocks. If it stops after about one movement up and down, should be fine.

Sorry I don't know, someone should come up with something.....

i have no clue haha. Thats why i'm asking i mean it feels like it is literally running over those rumble strips on the side of the road when i'm not but its only on the highway where it is more open for wind to come in

i mean its not mega windy like hurricane force haha and the speed limit is 65 and i figure if tractor trailers are going that fast then why not. But i can tell the difference when a gust comes along and you can feel the whole truck sway with the wind. But it really is like pushing down on the truck and feels like its bumping up and down. Atleast i think its the wind

Well having a Lifted truck is not going to be better then having stock height. Try adding some weight to the back of the truck and drive it around, Tacomas have light rear ends and it tends to sway. I don't know what else to tell ya man!

Maybe your shocks are maxed out leaving no room for down travel making the harsh stiff up and down ride you are experiencing. Not sure what else it can be?

Yea but its not that bad really when i'm driving over anything, like it is a little stiff but this super bumpyness will begin on any section of road where i didn't feel it before, like the other day when i drove up to Pittsburgh i felt it at certain spots but yesterday when i did, i didn't feel it at the same areas

Bump...and this only happens on the open highway where wind can get through
