So I’ve finally caught up with all your guys’ posts and I gotta say, you all do some amazing work on your trucks.

My mods are coming along. time and money permitting. Here are a few of my mods. I don’t take much pictures as I don’t have any social media to post to, I just enjoy it myself really. but I’ll try to be better. I know how much pictures are appreciated here.
got these inserts for Xmas along with an OEM be extender (yet to be installed)



Yakima Skyrise Small. Not the best for cold weather camping so I may upgrade down the road. Mounted on SOS concepts I picked up locally and coated with rustoleum bed liner

Other Mods:
-Matching Front tint to factory rear. I was told it’s 30% which is technically illegal here.
- TRD shift knob
- Wildpeaks - 265/75/16. No rub at all even with OEM mud guards
- Predator tube steps
- MESO coin tray
- OEM bed mat
- OEM roof rack, useless on 2020 due to new antenna placement. Waiting 2020 to release so I can exchange. Have Thule Canyon XT waiting to go on from my previous Subaru.


Next Mods:
- bed extender install
- Map/dome light upgrade
- yellow fog cover or bulbs? Still TBD
- bed rail install for axe and shovel
- traction boards
- bed cover

I saw a lot of people doing the Subaru tweeter upgrade. I have the JBL system and I gotta say I’m quite satisfied with it for the time being.

 

I am pretty sure the Subaru tweeter mod does not work with the JBL regardless.

If I already removed the chrome cupholder trim would I have to pull the whole center console for the meso trim?

 

To each thier own. But does anyone else think the red cabin lights make it look like a brothel?

It looks like hell. I get the reasons for some red illumination. But aesthetically as viewed from the outside isn't one of them IMHO.

 

Did some exploring in Joshua Tree, trimmed a bit more, still some slight rubbing in reverse with 33's installed.

 

I am. I just found some pre drilled aluminum brackets at my station. I used the bolts that go through the cover into the bed rail. I got some 1” wood blocks to put behind the brackets to give a little more stability to it. Maybe not the cleanest but it’s stuff I had on hand

 

If you plan on doing bed stiffeners I would stay away from the bed extender install. Depending on the stiffener you get, you will have to drill in the same area as where the bed extender clips go. I know with my Chaos Fab full length stiffeners I had to drill a center hole though the middle of the extender clip holes. This did two things. A: It is now a weak point of where the center of the stiffener is. B: you will need to rust proof the old holes and seal them up so that no rain water, etc can get behind or through them. I noticed a week after doing mine that the hole that was still exposed from the extender clip was beginning to rust and now I have to go back in there and remedy the issue. I have also found that I never really use the extender so it has become a mute point. YMMV.

 

I have mine mounted more or less the same way, though i'm using a flat bar of aluminum to extend downwards a bit, same as you - using what i happened to have on hand and there aint nothing wrong with that.

The wooden block idea sounds useful, i might need to see if i can do something like it. Cheers!

 

yea it was the best idea I could come with. I didn’t particularly feel like drilling into the bed and the weight of one of my other tools would probably bend the bracket so that was the best solution I could thank of.

Looks great! I have one too. Words of wisdom for ya. Do NOT slide anything across the top. It WILL scratch the top. Also be gentle unfolding it for the same reason. My top has some scratches and its just a nice silver color underneath that pretty matte black... its a great top tho! Keeps stuff dry.

 

Installed my Meso gasshole today along with my stage 1s on 2019 tail lights/black housing. I’m getting hyper flash so I will contact Meso for a resistor.

 

so, need your help here......please.....mats look great, but when I go to their site the only Toyota mats they have are for a Toyota Sienna, no Tundra, no Tacoma listed as an option. Correct or ?????

 

Every morning at work my in the parking lot my buddy says Red Light District to me.

 

Hey guys, what would be the steps towards touching up my rock sliders? I guess I'd need to sand down these rust areas and just re apply primer/paint? Should I just use sandpaper or get a wire brush? Or would a paint over rust option be better?

Think I've learned my lesson, will be putting on my front mudguards when I go to snowy areas.

 

I’m not a big fan of the chrome rear bumper. Eventually I’d like to replace the bumper entirely. Until then, I purchased Bumpershellz from Ecoological. They fit right over the factory chrome bumper and change the look entirely. I purchased the Textured Black, in order to match the wheel well trim, for just around $100.
