What questions do I need ask about these. They have 15k miles on them.

 

Lots of good guys in that area here on TW. Who’s the seller? Maybe one of the guys from the Tidewater Area regional thread can go look at them or know the owner. I wonder if those were Jakes.

Why buy used Icons when you could get new JBAs for just a little more?

 

Haven’t really looked into anything else. I saw these and was throwing out there for opinions, experience, etc. I will now look at JBAs haha

 

Pros and cons to them all but I've been very happy with mine as have many other local guys

 

Hate mine but it's cheaper to replace the balljoints in them over getting new ones. Those are the uniball version and at 15k miles I would suspect that the uniball is noisy or has some play and needs replaced. Oh and it's cheaper to replace that than a balljoint unless it's a JBA.

 

So two marks for JBA...

Yes. JBA. Hell if you break a balljoint on the trail it's as simple as running to the parts store and getting a full size 90s chevy truck upper balljoint. It won't be his high angle but will work getting you home. Camburg, Icon, et al. uniball and their proprietary ball joints you are stuck ordering them from either them or another company. So it would be wise to carry spares.
