Nice. I think I’ll add this to my plan ok attack when testing questionable alternators. As a forklift mechanic, the chassis usually wears out or is destroyed by a idiot operator before the engine or alternator, at least in modern machines.

Update. I got a remanufactured alternator Denso brand from Rock auto and haven’t noticed the light flickering since.

Thanks for updating this thread with what solved the problem, wish more members here did the same when starting a thread, as others here can learn from it.

I just put one on mine from Advance, warranty is good and when it fails (hopefully 15 years from now) I just hope it doesn't leave me stranded.

I’m glad you got it to no longer light up the battery light.

Now that you know for certain the alternator is good I’d suggest you test your battery.

If your multimeter has peak high and low function, you can do this test. Connect meter to the battery, + to +, - to -. Set it for dc volts peak low, start the engine. The meter will record the lowest the battery voltage dropped to. Now with the engine running switch the meter to dc volts without peak hold. Charging volts should be maxed at 14.2 or so. The old alternators would max out at 14.7. With a 14.7 alternator, a drop below 10.5 is considered a bad or weak battery. I’ve tested brand new engines with a 14.2 alternator and get 10.2 so below that is what I’m considering weak. Usually, a obviously bad battery will crank slower and test below 10. There are other ways to test your battery like a dedicated battery tester. Or an electrolyte tester but of course it won’t work on a sealed battery. Ez red makes a good electrolyte tester I like.

If your battery is older than 5 years, I would replace that too, just to be proactive.
