On my last truck (RAM 1500) I had them in the foot wells on either side. It was subtle but it looked good. Always gone with cool white for the LED replacements up top. That much red light is too much for me but to each their own.

I had to remove the geaux tigers from the quote....sorry

I installed the MESO red map lights with the MESO white dome light. When both are on the White tends to wash out the red 8n a good way. I use the red map lights to read or look for something at night to save my night vision. Good combination and as with all things MESO, great product.

This seems like a good combination. Got any pics like the recent poster?

As with every mod, the bills remaining get smaller! ;)

I finally get home tomorrow night. Planning exactly this over the next week:

The red reminds me of Bama. It would look better with a purple paint job and gold light on the inside.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I don't think so. I have them in mine and love it. Is it a bad reminder of days gone by? :)

Use this bed extender....brand is top line, and is fully adjustable.

That thing is frikin awesome. Totally on my to get list. Never really was happy with the OEM bed extender, because it angles inwards and doesn't allow you to use the full width of the bed.

I got tired of hearing my wheel lock rolling around in my glove box so I made a holder for it and my center cap allen wrench out of some foam I had.IMG_4576.jpg IMG_4575.jpg

With all of the gear aboard, that's better than I expected even keeping the speed down. And I know the manual trans is beloved, but they are usually rated at less MPG's mainly because of differential gearing and the human shifter vs programed. But, the 3rd gen is an anomaly in that regard and I think with larger tires, heavy loads and highway speeds the manual may fare better and I guess you demonstrated that.

Appreciate your insight; based on this analysis and your post count I'm assuming you are well versed in this truck...

I'm not a die-hard MT guy, but got used to them after living in Germany for years.

I got a deal on my truck in Florida because a Kentucky dude took it to Florida and bought a mustang convertible immediately based on the assumption his Tacoma would sell quickly. He learned folks in the Tampa area did not care for 4x4 ability and did not want to drive the manual in the traffic around there.

I took the truck to Virginia and now I have to take the truck back to Florida myself for an Army assignment...but I plan to ride a motorcycle most of the time so the truck won't be a daily driver around there...

I've read the MT is geared lower which will hopefully help with towing a future toy hauler...any thoughts on that?

It attaches to the brackets on the tailgate, pull two pins out and the thing pops off if needed, got mine from ebay $295 right now.
