:D That "post apocalyptic " road is named Bursum Road, and has been there for over 100 years, at least. The other end of it goes to Mogollon. I've taken it in a VW Scirocco in the summer, a long time ago.

Glad you guys had a good time!

Different road, we were only on Bursum Road for about 2ish miles. The post-apocalyptic one was "Reserve Beaverhead Road" and actually paved but im sure it was 100 years ago haha.

The green is the route we took, orange is the Reserve Beaverhead road, and red is Bursum Road. The section that was awful is where orange overlaps green.

OK, I thought that Bursum started in Reserve & went to Mogollon, and then out to what is now U.S. 180. I've been wrong before, though. :D

Im wrong fairly often so I definitely understand, but Bursum runs from hwy180 through Mogollon then NE to Coyote Canyon Road that road links up to hwy12!

OK, that makes sense from the old map I have from the early 1900's. Thanks!

I know there are some members that don't follow the other NM thread but a few of us have decided to try and get a monthly brew up meet going. I have that post below from the other thread.

    -------------------------

Alright fellas so its been a week since I posted about the monthly brew pub meet up and it looks like there is some consensus. We'll plan for the inaugural next month, I have the details below.

Again, this isn't anything super formal just a chance for us local/visitor TW people to get together and meet up. If you're free drop by and if you're not, there is always next month and hopefully that'll give you all some time to plan.

    Date: Thursday February 6th
    Time: 5:30pm
Where: Differential Brewery - 500 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106

I'm headed to your wonderful state next week. Any good camping in Carson National Forest? I was looking to swing through there on my way back home

Edit: actually more of the taos/angel fire area

I assume there has been some trepidation based on the COVID-19 restrictions but, once it's over are there still plans for meet ups?

Ya at the moment we’ve held off on the brewery meet ups (including next week) with the current situation. But hopefully things well gradually start to open up come June so we can get back on schedule.

A few of us have still been trying to get out from time to time, of course social distancing from the trucks. Anyway, let me know if you’re interested and I can let you know the next time we go out.

Please do. I'm new to the whole off-roading world but have been doing a trail here or there. 2 weeks ago we drove FR 462 in the Manzanita mountains which was the "hardest" (not sure if that the right word) road we've tried so far.
