I think the takedown was going on as i was coming thru, figured it was smart not to.

 

Yeah, but you are still well within your rights to record the police; I’ve technically recorded police every time I’ve been pulled over, as I have a dashcam.

 

No offense to the regular cab folks, but outside of work truck configurations I think regular cab trucks are unattractive and impractical. I have an access cab and I'm not sure what I would do without that space behind the seats. What do you do with stuff that you don't want to get wet in the bed of the truck, or don't want to get stolen while you're away from your rig? I've had regular cab trucks before and I would never go back. I think that's how most people feel and why the manufacturers aren't making them anymore.

 

They are on trial as of yesterday, both parents are druggies and it said the mother shot up within so many hours of birth too. CPS was involved but they screwed up too and the lady that was in charge got fired.

Good deal, anxious to hear how it turns out. My Ex-Fiance texted last night and said her furnace guy fell or got hurt and didnt install her system but just shoved everything in her garage and will come back next weekend. I asked the brand name but she said she didn't notice, I get the feeling she knows but didn't want to tell me.

 

She told him that she wanted Carrier or American-Standard, but she said he made a comment about saying that one company makes it but just sticks another name on it. I am expecting it to be one of the brands that you didn't like and then she will say "but it's made by Carrier". LOL!

 

Actually anything made by Carrier is a good choice. Bryant is the cheaper version of Carrier, but still very good; Back in 2010, the heat pump at my friend’s parents’ house died. They dead system was a 1998 Trane XE1000 matched with the original 1987 Trane air handler. They knew absolutely nothing about HVAC. They had quotes form at least two different contractors. The parents told me their budget, put the paperwork in front of me, and told me to pick what I thought was the best option. I picked a Bryant Evolution 2-stage 16 SEER 5-ton heat pump with a variable-speed handler...

Friend’s parents chose the Bryant, and that’s how this guy made an $8,000 decision for two lawyers!

Almost ten years later, the Bryant is still going strong, so I’d like to think I made the right choice.

Carrier is owned by United Technologies, which also owns International Comfort Products; ICP makes identical HVAC products under the following brands...

• Airquest
• Arcoaire
• Comfortmaker
• Day & Night
• Heil
• Keeprite
• Tempstar

These are of slightly cheaper quality than Carrier and Bryant but still good in my opinion.

My favorite brands hands down are Carrier and Trane. American Standard is a cheaper Trane. Trane and AmStan are owned by Ingersoll-Rand.

The biggest problem with Goodman is that they will sell to anybody, even if that person is not qualified to be installing HVAC equipment. Every other company, even NORDYNE, will not sell to anybody unless they have an EPA certification. Goodman equipment is often sold online and lower-than-average prices. A properly installed Goodman product will last a decade or more and work just fine, but so many Goodman units are installed by unqualified personnel and this greatly shortens their service life. Does your ex's HVAC guy have EPA certs?

 

I am really curious to find out what it is. She told me she was at work one day talking about wanting a new furnace, he coworker overheard her and said her husband is running his own HVAC business so that is the guy that is going to do it. After he came out he talked her into a Heat Pump and said he will do everything for under $5,000.

 

A heat pump is definitely a better choice than standalone electric heat if gas, propane, or oil is unavailable. My friend (same one with the red '04 stick shift Taco that I drove the other day) paid exactly $5,000 to install central air in her 1950s rancher that did not have central air; It's a 2005 Gibson (NORDYNE) 2.5-ton unit matched up an air handler. The house has separate oil heat (hot water/baseboard). The friend who installed the central A/C actually did a good job! My friend paid cash for the install so there was no financing or remortgaging necessary!
