3RD GEN ONLY Hood Swappin' N Tradin' Thread

That’s cheap! New hood are around 400, vents are around 200, plus paint job of around 500

 

I found a 2nd gen scoop hood for $200 on craigslist, and had a body shop friend paint it on the side for $100. Then the scoop trim from Toyota for about $150. All in all, was about $450 so not too horrible. And the fact that OEM Toyota scoop hoods arent easy to come by

PS: I'll never understand why people set these hoods down on the corner on pavement.

My wife make's fun of me for saying everything is "Photoshopped." But that's Photoshopped!

 

Highly doubt that. Or someone put way too much effort into the shadow work. Note the hole for the scoop shows up in the shadow... no real reason to photoshop this either. A picture of a Voodoo blue hood is not hard to come by on the internet. Scammers don't put in that much effort.

Im not promoting them. I was just looking for a truck bed and stumbled on a hood scoop and figured maybe someone would like to know.

theres a 2018 midnight black with scoop listed for $690. I cant comment on how good the paint is tho. Maybe someone nearby can check it out.

It’s real, no photoshop at all. I bought it and installed it in my truck. Very nice guy btw. He works for a bodyshop so he helped me install it at his garage the same night.

Even gave us bottled water and a can of coke.

Found it on my own. I came across about a week ago. It was posted last November but the guy said he’s been lowballed so many times he just decided to hold on to it.

 

ive been on that same website and have found a few hoods before. just a matter of deciding how much you trust the quality of the photos given that some of those would be out of state for most of us.

 

I called about the first one. I asked if he would take my hood as some credit towards the hood. He wasn’t interested. It’s a risk to drive there and pay $690 for a hood you’ve never seen.

Derick I'm glad you got that because i've seen it on craigslist for about a month and couldn't figure out if it was real or not, glad to see it went to a TW member!

 

I didn't want to spend $1500 CAD so went and did this for $300. Did the wrap myself too
