Get your 45mm socket ready haha and get a fish scale... Or just get real good at feeling the bearing preload by hand

100 and 80 series have the same front hub and flange. Just one is hooked to an axle and the other is hooked to some arms and various other nonsense and breakable items :p

Y’all going on about the easy brake jobs on land cruisers? Try the Chevy Colorado. Captive rotor, bolted to the back of the wheel bearing that has to be replaced to replace the rotor.

why was that a good idea?

I like doing it on the cruiser now that I've done it a few times. Good time to repack the wheel bearings and check lash. Need to do em soon.

Hey Dan, what's the going rate for a set of 1st Gen ADD wheel bearings. Mine are making noises that I thought were tires.

Ooohhhh that's what a captive rotor is? Okay. Didn't know there was a separate name but makes sense. @Running Board Man I've done the bearings and rotors on the front of the hundred series and yeah getting a feel for the preload can be funky. I remember a guy on Mud had determined the approximate equivalent ft lbs and just went by that nut spec in ft/lbs over the fish scale on the lug bolt method. On the 80 series I did use the fish scale the first time or two. Worked well. I guess the extra work sucks but dude you get to service/repack you bearings when you do your rotors. No sealed bearing BS of just run it until it fails. Win - win :D:cool:

Honestly. I don’t knows I haven’t dontna customer set in like 4 years.

last I checked if you supply the parts, machine shops around here will press them together for like 50 bucks a set.

just get a new bearing and the seals... I reuse the hubs

He told me to hold off from heading down south for awhile since I had mentioned a wheeling/camping trip out there.

Minivan shopping must be stressful tho...

Lol well you probably didn't get far then. Did you do the brass trick to pull the hub end?

People at work think I’m nuts when I go ham on the studs with a brass hammer.

But that’s why I’m the only one who does them. People are stupid.

Eh fuck. Ill press em out at work. I've got a 120ton press that won't think twice about those fuckers. I just wanted the parts. Guess I'll order some bearings.

Bearings and the spacers at the end.
Seals are a good idea too. The rear one you have to. The one between the hub and bearing you don’t have to, but it’s just good practice.

That's what I have too. It's close enough, not like you're putting any real ass on em anyway. Only takes a bit of a tug to seat the bearings.
