overpriced rebrands from what ive seen.

 

I was thinking about getting the Tekton, it's only $36 on Amazon

I have that TEKTON. I do t use it much anymore since I got the digital Tech Angle wrench. But it was a great torque wrench

tekton is good for the price. the digital gearwrenches are pretty damn good for their price

 

The guy I picked up the spindles, hubs and axles from just did this. each to their own I guess

See, that is exactly where I'm at. If I had a clear understanding of exactly what additional wiring (if any) was needed, then I'd have no issue tackling this. I do know that the VSS cable may need to be lengthened. Not 100% sure though.

It really is too bad nobody took the time to do a proper write up on converting a 2WD using ADD and the J shift.

I'm actually feeling very challenged by it in the sense that anyone who tells me its a waste or I shouldn't do it, well they can F OFF. Heard this from a buddy of mine yesterday and that just did not fly - yeah, I saw red.

Oh and as far as mileage is concerned, does it matter anymore once you lift and start modding the hell out of it? I still laugh at the posters talking about 18-20+mpg with 33s and armor.

VSS cable? your trucks got a electrical connector for this.. simple to extend.

 

I can make an add solenoid/vacuum can wiring setup for you if you want add. Not hard.

maybe that was on pre-02 then. Came across more than one post talking about it. Looking at my bookmarks, the first one mentioning was on a 98.

 

the wiring for the electric setup isnt too difficult by the looks of it.. chances are his dash harness already has all the wires too.

 

cable went bye bye after 97 i think.

 

I got some old craftmen stuff from my grandpa

 

i mean for 90% of people who offroad.. probably not

 

The electric setup is 90% done through the 4x4 computer and is almost identical to the lockers and 4x4 engage on an electric case. Though I think it's more of a pain in the ass and easier to fail just like Toyotas dumb elockers

j shift electric setups dont use the 4x4 computer. they use a transmission relay. he confirmed he has the connector there for it.

The push button uses a 4x4 computer. Its all in the diagrams i posted

 

Then it must be self regulating. Though being so many pins I find that hard to believe. It would have to have limit switches and internal circuitry of its own. You sure it's not just an integrated function. The ECU does have 4x4 relayed pins on late models
