I have no idea but the initial reaction will be an over reaction. The economy is on fire I doubt this Iran thing will amount to much but just my guess.

 

Robinhood has partnered with banks to give you interest on, and access to, your cash balance via a debit card.

 

Not sure if old news but wife got an email today about Vanguard joining the crowd with no trade fee/commissions.

 

Used the debit card to buy my daughter and I breakfast burritos over the weekend so.... yeah, that works

Interestingly, some stocks sold Friday, and the full cash balance is showing accessible today, so apparently it isn't always 2 trading days to settle?

 

I bet the DOW will open 1,000 down tomorrow do the events unfolding in the Middle East

 

My boring defensive portfolio shines at times like this. I’ll lose 1% on days the market loses 2.5%!

The question is (if you’re a market timer) do you buy the 2% dip? Wait for 10% or 40% that may never come? I just buy whenever I have cash but do love dips.

 

In my 401k I keep a 60/40 stocks/bonds split and rebalance quarterly.

 

Nice, automatically takes advantage of any dips. The key in my opinion is to have a strategy and stick to it, no panicking under any circumstances.

I'm not sure the 4 percent rule applies to peeps in this thread. We all are diducated to super saving and watching where all our money goes.

I really can't see any of us just saying "I got 4% of my portfolio to spend, I'm gonna spend it".

Look at the chart in the link. You’d have done a lot better since 1991 by buying and holding NOBL over SPY. Do what’s best for you though, I want cash flow now.



Edit: Well NOBL the ETF didn't exist in 1991, but equally weighting all Dividend Aristocrats would have had the same result.

 

Stocks only matter long term. Invest when you got the money to play.

 

Looks like BA will be a bit interesting tomorrow.

 

DOW futures are basically no change from yesterday’s close right now. I’m kind of surprised, in a good way!
