Alright I’ve seen several threads about this but none seem to have a conclusive answer to my questions, i have a 2006 trd off-road with auto trans and I want to pull the rear axle out to swap it into my 2009 sr5 with manual trans.
I am talking about a full axle swap, not just the 3rd member.
My question is, can anyone confirm that the diff ratios are the same? Or would i need to change the front ce ter section as well?
Does anyone actually have a ratio chart for both these trucks?

It's my understanding that all V6 trucks have 3.73 and all 4 cylinder trucks have 4.11. It doesn't matter if it's the 8 or the 8.4 as the gear ratio's stay the same.

I’ve found some people saying that but also some saying that the diff ratios change between auto and manual trans... any info on that?

Would be a cool project if you are able to just swap axles.

That's the first I've heard of the gear radio's in the differentials being different between the automatic transmission and the manual transmission. I'm pretty sure gear ratio differences are in the transmissions themselves.

I agree and I doubt there really is different diff ratios for different trans, but I’m hoping to make sure before swapping out my rear diff and finding out I was wrong the hard way :p

Yeah I can definitely understand that, lol.

You might want to ensure the emergency brake system uses the same emergency brake cable between the 8 and the 8.4 rear differentials too.
