Nuts on heat shields?

Does anyone know what the thread pattern is on the nuts and bolts that hold the tin foil heat shields on?

I've got one I need to put washers on and put back in place, but the original nuts are basically seized. I thought I might as just replace them.

 

If the nuts are siezed then I would imagine the threads on the stud won't be useable if you can get the nut off.

 

I think I can, but they're going to be mangled, hence the need for new ones.

 

Spray them with that yellow blaster penetrating lube (or WD40) and then hit it with an impact wrench.

OEM heat shield nuts have larger tapping-thread which cut and deform and are intended to be attached
to somewhat mangy old posts...at least on my Yaris they are like that. no problem attaching new
heat shields to old posts, they screw on fine and cut into the mung.

On my 2006 Tacoma the exhaust heat shield nuts are just regular 6x1.0mm nuts, absolutely nothing special about them at all. I know this because I was just outside in my bath robe in 41 degree weather and removed a exhaust heat shield nut and screwed it onto a regular 6x1.0mm bolt with my hand. On the negative side I'm pretty sure my female neighbor saw my nuts while getting into her car to go to work but on the positive side I found my missing 10mm socket on my cordless impact so thanks to the OP for finding that socket.
