Was driving back to Arkansas from Houston and hadna rock put a massive crack in the windshield of my 2017 Cement Trd Pro Tacoma. I don't even know where to start with replacing the glass since it looks so custom. Does anyone have experience with doing this yet?

Many have had replacements already. Some have had good results and some have had bad results from Safelite. Pilkington is the company who makes the glass for Toyota. With a 2017 the only thing you need to deal with is the Go pro mount if you even use that. Just call around some glass places and get a few quotes.

It's a Tacoma windshield, only special thing is the GoPro mount which the Pro and TRD Off Roads have.
Got to your local fav glass shop and make an appointment.
Check with your insurance if you have glass coverage.

I have the Pilkington brand without the Toyota Brand Logo. $380 out the door installed. Dont need to pay over $800 for the same glass just because it has the Toyota logo. Pilkington makes the Tacoma windshield.

I had a some gravel chip my windshield 1 week after buying my 2019 TRD OR. The chips turned into a pretty nasty crack and I ended up having to replace the windshield. I was surprised at how easily chipped and fragile the glass was. Literally a speck of gravel chipped my windshield worse than any other windshield I’ve ever owned.

After doing some research on this forum, it sounds like the consensus is the OEM windshields for these Tacoma’s are pretty fragile. I ended up going with the Pilkington glass w/out the Toyota logo and the difference in durability is noticeable. Other people on here can probably speak to their experiences, but you might consider spring for the non-logo Pilkington glass.

had to replace mine on my 2017 cement Pro also. that was 2 yrs ago.. Safelite did it, and they did a great job and im very picky about these kinds of things,, i did everything online . then went to the actual shop, i did not want it done in my drive way,i was there for about 1 1/2 hrs , found a discount coupon,, and it was 380.00... they also replaced my wife winshield in here 2016 subaru crosstrek,, same results. no complaints

I had mine done last summer...Safelite replaced my glass with non OEM, but the tech said I could have requested OEM glass because of my mileage. (worth a shot)

I had them do mine in the driveway, and i was well one. The dealer will have to re-calibrate the front safety crap.

Here in Calif. AAA insurance sells full glass replacement for a very good price, add it to your policy and you wont pay a dime for new OEM glass.. already used it twice, crappy Ca roads ! and some Ivan Stewart runs :)

Was your gopro mount the same on the OE but not OEM Pilkington glass?

Go pro mount was an off brand. I had them remove the official one for me to keep. I then removed the off brand and put the official one back in place.

Yeah tried to do that with mine but it didn't quite work out. Oh well I'll just have to do it next time which shouldn't take too long based on how these windshields go.

I had my windshield replaced after a chip turned into a foot long crack. I went with a local company, non OE glass; about $300-$400. I feel like the new windshield doesn't clean up as nicely as the original. Somehow it's not as smooth on the interior and snags more lint? It also came with a repro go pro mount, but IDGAF.
