    I went to a 35 before a 33

Correct I went from stock tires to 35s first but I did eventually get 33s for the winter. I’m running a 33 now and then will switch back to 35s in the spring and summer.

How big is the difference between 33s and 35s for you?

Depends on the context. From a general driving perspective the truck doesn’t notice the difference, handles the tires perfectly. I average about 16-17mpgs on the 35s but I’ve never done a true study like the stock tires and 33s, mainly because I offroad so much in the summer.

From an offroad perspective, the 35s are a dream compared to the 33s but the 35s and the 5.29s handle them easily as well.

Good to know. I’m probably going to move up to 315s and method 701s this spring. Why not make the truck even slower!

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Eagle Rock is fun, I definitely recommend 35s, sliders and skids. You may still touch your paint, I kissed a rock late last year but you can’t notice.

Placed order for mine today. 5.29 gear ratio with a solid spacer. No elocker in my truck.
It would take them 3 weeks to build as they are all made to order.
I have a core charge of $525 which they will credit back once they receive my old core back.
Can't wait to install this in my truck and enjoy the new driving experience :).

So the last few days I’ve been feeling some vibrations when I take my foot off the pedal and coast between 40-50. I’ve been considering maybe it was the needle bearing. Well tonight while driving home I’m pretty sure I heard this bolt coming out and falling out. I believe this is the yoke flange? It goes it to the front differential? So the guys who installed my gears likely didn’t torque them down correctly or forgot one... :annoyed: I’m going to make the drive to the deAler and get that bolt. Anyone know the torque spec on it? I’m assuming with 3 other bolts still in there sAfe to drive? U guys think that could’ve been the reason for feeling those vibes?

Just got my diff's delivered today with 5.29's from ECGS. I am stoked. I'm a little bit nervous about the cv bushing that fixes the excessive play on the driver side CV shaft. I was told by ECGS that the bushing fix is not needed when opting for the harrop e locker. I've seen info floating around on Tacoma world and elsewhere that this is the case with the ARB front locker but nothing on the harrops. After inspecting the front clamshell upon arrival it looks like an oem needle bearing, but I could be mistaken. I'm confident in ECGS they've been great thus far so I will double check with them tomorrow. I sure hope I don't have that god awful play in the driver side cv shaft.

update* chase got back to me. These guys are awesome. He stated that the spider gear in the Harrop is more supported than the factory open diff and they are installed with a needle bearing now and it should not be an issue. Just wanted to relay this info in case anyone else is looking into a Harrop during 5.29 upgrade. I’m pumped to install these.

I'd be a leetle cranky and suspicious of the installer. Check other bolts minimum.
