Wow, that's awesome. As to your question, it sounds like a logical choice to me.

Sounds like overkill to me. I have sliders, canopy, 33s, heavy wheels, etc etc. I didnt regear. I probably would if I went 35s though.

Regarding the beaver tail. I have had one for years (previously on my F150, now on my Taco with silencers and some velcro to keep it from clanking around) - and it's best if you take some rattle can bed coat and hit it a couple times. I say this because without it, it's slick when it rains, and if you actually use it as a step, or to hold something while you fiddle around, it, or yourself, are going to slide right off it.

I was looking for a good usb port. how is the quality and what site did you get that from. All the ones I have looked at look to be pretty cheap and I would not trust them.

I got mine from Amazon. My initial thought was the same but I’m surprised to say the quality of the item is pretty good and the voltmeter seems to work very well, and so does the usb charger. It looks pretty factory and for $17 I’m happy with the mod.

+2 on avoiding MAACO. They don't mask correctly, leave overspray and orange peel texture. They also frequently don't paint inside jambs or other areas which shows the vehicle has be repainted (badly). Also their paint is crap and will fade/oxidize very quickly. Paint coverage is minimal with skimpy clear coats.

Body repair is shoddy at best. They cut ever corner possible and use copious amounts of body filler. They are so bad that often better shops have to replace whole panels rather than try to fix their bodgy work. Unless your are quick flipping the vehicle, you should stay away from these shops.

    I dig those lights.

as for the beaver tail, depending on what your primary need is, I found this worked great for me. I'm not on 35's so height is not an issue, I'll just use the step in the bumper. However, having something in the receiver, allows for a slightly deeper contact point (parallel parkers, rearview camera) and is an excellent effective quick recovery point. Definately not a step.

    Solid billet aluminum.

Thank you sir. Man that is beefy! Looks like quality machining. Do you have a link I could take a gander at or is that a one off custom piece?

    dohh!
forgot. Easy enough to machine, but the metal would be costly. price seems to fluxuate quite a bit on these. I paid less a while back. Still, if you've ever seen prices on billet, factoring in labor, and making a buck, it's not that bad. Made in the good ol' :oldglory:

I have often wondered about this unit. They sell it refurbished from time to time on HD's website for like $60.
