Air down till your tires bulge out a bit, dig out the crest in front of your tires, place a bunch of sticks and things in front of your tires (fern branches, etc). Anything to distribute the weight of your truck over a larger area. Don't spin your tires, take it nice and easy as you try to pull some of those branches under your tires and pull yourself up the hill as much as possible. Repeat this process until you can drive out. Hope this helps! Good luck from So Cal!

You want the tires to bulge pretty good, plenty of wheel spin. If you do believe attempting any movement will put you in a worse situation, then don't. Wait for help.

I am embarrassed to say that something like this happened to me in my 2WD, on a wet grassy hill!

I'd been parked in the grass at a car show back in September or October 2013, on a slight incline at the top of a steep hill. My truck is automatic; I released the parking brake, and as soon as I shifted into drive and pulled forward, I lost traction and started sliding down the hill. I slid down the hill extremely fast, and only a last minute evasive jerk of the steering wheel saved my truck from getting the entire right side clobbered on a tree!

    Like, so many.
I know this is probably dumb, but people forget stuff in a high stress situations, do you have traction boards?

Make sure the frame is not bottomed out first. Put any material you dig out behind the wheel in the downward/scary/dangerous direction to keep the truck from sliding farther.
Try to get to the depth of dryer dirt. Definitely air down.

As the crow flies, yes. In reality, no. It's going to have to be a West side rescue. Someone post this in both NorCal wheeling threads. There's one for 2019 and one for 2020.

I haven't wheeled with any of those guys but a few of them seem to know their shit.
