I've got a Pioneer 8400nex in my truck and lately been noticing some start up issues , Head unit is 2 yrs old

    Such as ..

Screen pixelated for a few seconds once it first turns on (powers up)

Back up camera image reversed ( happened only a few times)

I would check for any software updates (not necessarily related, but cant hurt) and disconnect it from power for a few minutes just to get a good nice full reset

I get a lot of calls once the weather starts getting cold from people saying their radios are doing odd things so don't feel alone. I just think these radios dont like cold

Able to get this figured out? I was looking into the 8400 as a potential. Most of what I have read is positive about the unit, but I want to be sure.

Bummer, Like I said... considering it for a replacement option, but would love to hear if it is some kind of firmware or update.

Finally got around to going to the car audio place that installed my stereo !!

As for the screen freezing / pixelated that's due to the cold weather causing issues with the sensitive electronics as mentioned in post # 5 . And no recent firmware updates available at this time

My truck is parked in a garage and temps have been 15° warmer than outside ambient air temperature . So even at 55° ambient air temperature have had issues with the screen issues

As for the reverse image/ no guidelines on the back up camera that was from a loose connection on the back of the head unit
