I thought about it but the bolt has flat spots milled into it to give it traction on the knob.

Didn’t wanna do that. Would like it to be all one piece so it doesn’t get lost. I won’t be the only one using it I will lend it out at work to the people working beside me, so wanted it all one piece. And can’t find a 1”-3/8” adapter.

Adjusting pack buggy’s in the plastic pipe factory I work in. We have ratchets and sockets to adjust them but it takes for ever and makes your arms tired so I got a cheap Hercules impact to use just needed to make it fit a 3/8”.hard to understand unless you were there to see it. But there isn’t any pressure on the nuts I’ll be adjusting.

Pretty sure my dad has that and I've used it many times. Runs just as well as the one my grandfather passed down to him.

when you show it like that and considering you bought this big band saw and made that base, why not just weld a 1/2 in bolt to it and adjust it with a wrench or weld some round bar to act like a t handle. unless it uses the plastic screw cap to hold tension which i doubt.

I have a similar situation with my vintage floor drill press (not HF). I was thinking of using something like this. Just have to find the right ID to fit over the adjustment pin. There’s a few on Amazon and eBay that may suit your needs and be an improvement over the knob.

uxcell 4-inch Diameter Plastic Round Hand Wheel W Revolving Handle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073CCLGCC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BlbfEb7XBX6PC

I may try to make my own with some round tube first. Drill and tap a small bolt to use as a set screw for the flat spot and make more of a crank handle that a wheel.

Yes it does lol. Like at ghost ship suggested I'll put a some kind of metal wheel or knob at the proper depth on it later this week when I get time. Should he an upgrade.

I work in non foods buying for Costco. I can assure you the quality is most likely better. We have an extremely low margin on that kind of stuff and make sure that we we put something out there, that it is good. New Age has a lifetime warranty.
