The numbers look nice, but the overall acceleration figures are the issue. 11-12 seconds to 60 mph is slower than the 2.7L gas engine we get in the US, which is one of the slowest new vehicles currently sold, and that's totally unloaded/stock.

With all the bellyaching over a mid 15 second quarter mile out of the current 3rd Gen V6, I doubt many 'deezul!!' owners would be thrilled with literally being run off of the road by prius grandmas flashing their brights in the US.

I would imagine the zero to 60 would be in the 14+ second range. TW would have to have an entire section dedicated to people complaining about how gutless it is. This site would be miserable. Other than towing diesels are awful.

The prius has proven to be reliable af, more reliable than a lot of other gas powered vehicles. If toyota can make that into a 4x4 truck then Id be in. I just hope they make it in inferno, otherwise its another few $k to wrap it.

The Prius has pretty much replaced the Crown Vic in NYC's taxi fleet!

They could make them if they wanted to. The problem is, it would flop faster than the Pontiac Aztek.

The prius is the ultimate "car guys" daily-driver. Nearly zero maintenance, zero emotional attachment, great MPG and almost 100% reliability.

I believe the newer Prius engines don’t have fan belts anymore. They use an electric powered water pump.

Yeah, but they're not exactly good looking, and I've out-accelerated many a Prius in my 4-banger/automatic Tacoma on the highway!

Does the air-conditioner run entirely on electricity then?

Also, one time I called an Uber while vacationing in Malibu in 2016. It ended up being a 2004 Prius; The car had about 240K miles, ran like a top, and had the most finger-numbingly cold A/C I'd ever felt!
