Huh interesting...mine go up smoothly and quickly on their own after I lift them maybe 6"

When you compressed the struts by hand a few times before install per the instructions, was it pretty difficult the first time? Mine were super stiff and I thought I was going to break them lol, took a lot of force to compress them by hand against the ground initially.

nope, not at all. i'll probably reach out to him tomorrow. One interesting note, the included hard copy instructions covering the hood side bracket are different than tim's tacoma install video. I installed them with the wide side inboard to the hood (as the instructions show). Doubt that would matter.

Yeah I don't know why it's so high, the truck is usually $100-ish which is higher because of my 1950's vanity plates.

Yeah I don't think that would matter...I didn't watch Tims install vid but I did it the same way the instructions said to.

But yeah if your struts weren't difficult to compress the first time then that's gotta be the issue. I was almost afraid I was going to crush the mounting piece on the end it took so much pressure to compress them. The instructions mention the first time should take some force

At least it'll be simple to swap the struts out...the more difficult part is already done (riveting in the mounts). The struts you can swap out easily
