i'm sure someone has put buckets in their reg cab. but why should i have to take on that expensive time consuming mod that will make me wanna pull out my hair. toyota should have at least made the bench seat back able to recline and no arm rest is just dumb. other than that the truck is awesome. i actually don't mind a bench seat it just needs to be 60/40 with some type of purchase for your elbow.

well i'm a 1st gen owner, so not much :) only one i can really think of is that the cup holder flaps disintegrate over time, but it's a cheap/easy fix. a thread somewhere shows how you can just buy a sheet of generic gasket material and cut your own.

other than that nothing really. I love how my 03 has all the new technologies you want, none you don't. I love how the dome light will automatically turn off if i leave it on instead of killing the battery, i love the keyless entry, power everything, and dual airbags, triple power outlet. I love that it DOESN'T have drive by wire, power seats, or daytime running lights.

lol, you guys make me glad a got a 1st gen over a 2nd gen.

How bout the fact the fog lights on come on IF headlights are on low beam. That bites. I would like for it to have a better radio, speakers rattle.

Just a bunch of old crap
Fortunately I've been able to fix or replace anything that has gone wrong, which has been very minimal. I won't complain about my Taco because it has been the most dependable, practical, and overall useful vehicle I have ever owned. It was the truck I wanted, and I don't want to tempt fate by talking bad about it!

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .

I like my tacoma ... but these changes would make it a "Super Pickup" ... :D

    (1) Split side tow mirrors with a convex bottom section.

    (2) Heavier Tailgate.

    (3) Metal Bed

    (4) Better OEM Radio System

    (5) 4.6 V-8 ... :D

    (6) Small Turbo-Charged Diesel option would be cool too

That cruise control doesn't come standard on the 08 models! I wanted a double cab but needed to save money as well, so I got the bare bones stock with no cruise control

If you really, really want some CC badly enough. $150 will get you the OEM CC. The switch is about $102, the wire harness is $37 and the wheel cover is $4.50, all from the dealer. Takes like 10 minutes to take apart, install the CC and put it back together. Oh, need 2 screws/bolts to.

I found a CC switch from an 05 on Ebay for $43.

There is a thread on the install. Under Mods and Tuts at the top of the page, 1st link.

I hate the traction control and rubber inserts for the front cupholders. I feel like an idiot for trading my '06 for a '10 model
