the wheels overall are in great condition no curb rash or anything. There is A tiny amount of peeling near the lug nuts from when Les Schwab over tightened the lugs. I sent a message to the guys at factory wheel outlet (who painted them) and they said they’d take care of it for free but it hasn’t been a priority to me. Can send pics to anyone who is seriously interested.

Sounds good man, and good luck on your sale/swap.
I’ve got off-road wheels and understand you’re not interested. I was just looking for something while waiting for the 17” TE’s to arrive, hopefully this month.

My statement was just to reflect that some Volk TE buyers can be critical of the factory finish.

I know this isn’t the correct forum to post this but I’m looking for any help and this thread gets lots of traffic lol.

I’m looking to do a basic platform in my shortbed this weekend. Super simple just a couple sheets of 3/4” plywood. Just curious if anyone has any experience with applying some type of waterproof sealant or paint in a similar situation. What’s good to use and what should I steer away from? Thanks for all input!
PS it’s under a fiberglass canopy.

I used some white roll on flex seal on some plywood, made it two years ago and it’s held up great. Rubbery surface helps from shit sliding around and moisture rolls right off when I need to clean it etc. I’d give them to you but you have a 3rd, mine is a 2nd.

thanks for the advice. I do have a small amount of water that gets in through the bed corners. Other forums I’ve stumbled upon here show people solving that by applying like a silicone caulking. I do need to eventually do that but since my platform will be for storage and having the dog on top Im not sure if carpet is my best route. Again, I appreciate the help!

Even if you are going to put some marine grade carpet on it, I would still recommend staining or treating the wood underneath with something.

I've build a handful of different decks and interior set ups and overtime, without some sort of wood treatment it has the potential to saturate water, mold or swell.

It's their billet version, but this video should be very applicable.

Thanks for the link Bert. I am going to try to attempt this without the tool. Old school socket and BFH method.

I might recommend getting a ball joint press. You can rent them for free from local auto part stores.

Edit: Or maybe the bearing pullers

Water based deck stain: Deckscapes from Sherwin Williams or Storm from Miller Paint, Cabots or Sikens, semi-transparent or solid body and you can get any color you want. If you don’t care about color I can give you some mostly grey color and more than you need. Just don’t use hardware store coatings, Behr, Valspar, etc. they’re all shit.
