Lol I wish. The postage is stupid here. $50 to ship the bed cubbies 8 hours away. I don’t know. Seems expensive.

yeah, it's crazy stupid. Why are post service is going out of business. Kind of like what happened to traditional taxi's when Uber came in.

Hey all, would I be able to seek your opinion on whether the cost-performance ratio is worth it in my case.

I have an 06' w/ 130k miles that after getting it back from the dealer today found out that the transfer case actuator (NOT THE FRONT ADD) has pooched. Told me that a cup of water came out when they removed the shift motor from the T-case. Where I am, the labour and parts are gonna cost around $3400 CAD, which is a lot considering i paid 12.5k CAD for the truck. Is it worth trying to DIY the actuator repair, sucking up to the dealer for a repair, or go balls to the wall and do an FJ twin stick swap?

If it were me, I'd try to fix the actuator myself in the short term, and get myself an FJ case for when it inevitably goes again. You can pick them up all day long for under $300 with mileage similar to your truck. Yes it's more work but in the end you eliminate a failure point.

I have the transfer case out of my 2009 that you could buy if you like. It was working perfectly when I took it out. You’ll need to procure some sensors and a speedo gear for I’ve taken those when I did my swap. Truck had approx 80,000 km on it when I yanked the stock t-case out.

So I couldn't find the template but found some pictures I had archived. Also some info, transmission mount only needs to be moved forward one inch but it looks like it was dropped as well in the pictures. I'm sure I can draw something up in AutoCAD. I'll be under the truck this weekend and take some measurements.

Seems from the pictures just some tube steel was utilized and the existing mount was welded on center and up 1" in between the two existing crossmember mounts.

We may have a template after all....
