Thanks bro. Appreciate the feedback. I'll take the sport for a drive to compare.

    Like, so many.
You probably noticed this already, but the tires on both Tacomas suck. I think your ZR2 has Duratracs, right? I'd just figure the cost of upgrading tires into the cost of the truck.
What's the community like for ZR2 owners?
    Keep us posted.

Honestly I ran the stock kevlars on AZ trails no problems, not the best but not bad for oem. The sport toyos and Firestones though are GARBAGE much like the dunflops they used to stick on stock.

I traded my brand new 2019 ZR2 with 10,000 miles on it for an TRD OR and havnt looked back. The shocks leaked, the front diff had to be completely rebuilt within the first month of having it. It was nothing but a headache. I loved the look and idea of all the functions but the reliability was horrid.

Yup, included duratracs, which are awesome...another big reason why I took the leap of faith into the GM world for a try. The ZR2 has so much going for it...but nothing matters if it ain't reliable. I know I'm probably over analyzing this, but reliability is my number one priority.

The community is very much the same as here to be honest. In the real world where I live, EVERYONE and their grandma has a tacoma. There's been a ton of times at the gas station or the mall where a tacoma owner walks over to chat and see how I like it haha.

Thanks for sharing, while I haven't experience as much headache, this first tranny issue is definitely worrisome. Can you speak to any difference good or bad suspension while between the ZR2 and your OR? I've read on here a simple swap to even basic 5100s will improve the stock ride.

I pretty much swapped suspension right away. Nothing crazy. Bilstiens 6112. Rides great IMO. Where the ZR2 suspension shined was doing 60mph down a fire road. Honest besides that the difference isn't noticeable but more in your head.

Get the OR and put some stiffer suspension bits on it. My OR drives like a boat but I don't mind as I have the 350z for fun driving.

The next stage up... 8112/8100's will take that shine away again...

I though the fix for that shudder was the torque converter

Unless you like the Scoop and the color matched accents... (but locker(s) are easy to install)

Get the OR. More "toys" for the $$$, but you'll probably find out that the only really useful feature is the locker, MTS and CC is only good for newbs.

No matter what trim you get, you'll want to get rid of the stock shocks and Tires ASAP after the ZR2 Suspension and Tires...

I did a lot of comparisons and ride tests and went with the 8112/8100 with Icon Rxt rear leafs.

I like the ride on and off-road, and the control,
better than the ZR2 and Raptor. (Mic drop).

    Fox 2.5/3.0,
    King 2.5/3.0,
    Icons

are all popular favorites on this site too.

All also put the stock pro shocks to shame.

Even the cheep 5100's and fox 2.0's are raved about over the stock shocks. (But not as good as the Pro shocks)
