I live on the east side of Columbus and I'd love to check these roads out. I recently bought a 2013 4Runner (I still have my '04 Taco) and upgraded the tires on it. This seems like the perfect place!

Anyone interested in doing a Central Ohio meet-up for 2020? I'd also open it up for the 4Runner and FJ guys as well.

Probably. I don't want to get caught in any snow in a locked prerunner. I'll save it for summer/fall trips.

Least y'all could do is get some snow on the ground.
I'll be leaving sunny and 70 temps here.

I doubt you see any snow. This area of Ohio has had a total accumulation of. 75" since November 1.

It's supposed to be in the low 60's and rainy this weekend. :annoyed:

Well, atleast it looks like decent traveling weather wed/thur. Can't remember if muzzleloader is back in, Might get down to the farm one day.

I'll just be glad to be off work and spend time with the fam again.

The whole season? I'm from pa we get Dec 26th-Jan 20th statewide and urban areas extend until almost or even into Feb. Our late muzzleloader is flintlock only though. I'm only 1 hour from Ohio, and the allure of the huge bucks has made me think about getting a tag a few times. I need to get out and explore some public land to hunt first though.

I think there is one in mid-November between bow and shotgun.

Is there a regular rifle season as well? I definitely need to do some research and figure out the local regulations and seasons.

    There is.
Not sure what the dates are as the folks only moved there last year from Indiana. So now I have to learn all the dates for another state. Lol.

I've hunted western PA most of my youth. Deer and bear. Born in Clearfied. My Grandfather was deputy PGC for 30 years.

Kinda bummed that I'll miss muzzloader in Ohio this year. I'll have to start planning my trips more carefully.

I was thinking it was limited to certain counties or units (rifle season). I looked years ago when i had an annual convention at geneva on the lake during archery season. Nice, that isn't too far from me about an hour or so east. I actually hunt in Halton a bit in the Allegheny National Forest.

I picked up the smokepole 3 years ago, and it has become my favorite way to hunt whitetails.
