Mine weren't exactly waterproof, as I've had my seats stay moist before. After 4 or 5 years, they started looking scraggly, where you slide out of the driver's seat. Wasn't complaining at all after 5 years of usage though.

After kayaking Terrapin Creek one year, they stunk to high heaven. Even after scrubbing, they still carried an odor, so I got rid of them to a friend of mine. If you drive around in the summer with no shirt on, it feels hot against the skin. At least to me they do. Carrying the wife, kids and dog in the truck as a daily driver, probably expedited the wear and smell too.

This is the reason I every day carry (and so does my wife). Not out of fear but protection from the idiots that surround you daily.

Do yall watch 60 Days In on A&E? It's on Etowah County this season. I heard horror stories of that place, but this documentary really solidifies what I've heard. Had many of my buddies go to this jail in our hell raising days. Sheriff Todd Entrekin was a thief and stole money from the state. We know Sheriff Jonathan Horton as he was the former chief in Glencoe.

I worked in Birmingham for 10 years, that's why I live in Cullman today. I had a gun in my back packet or in the seat beside me everyday.
This is another reason for not letting everyone see your gun.

That first night in Moab a few years ago was a hellacious experience. Wife whined about every five minutes about wanting to get in the truck cab. Wish I had that on video.
