    I clicked on this thread as the title referred to a "thumping on the driver's footrest FIXED". I have this problem but fail to find the "fix" for this problem in this thread. Can someone point me to the solution to this problem? No, I have not read all 1058 pages of this thread, I gave up after 100 or so. Thanks for the help.

    LOL, so what happened here is that one of the moderators was merging my threads together at my request. The mod accidentally merged my MegaThread (this thread) with a thread about the thumping noise in my truck instead of the other way around; I changed the name back accordingly...

    Anyway, so the problem with my truck ended up being a loose fender well flap/lining that was thumping against the inner corner of my left front fender near the firewall; It was reverberating through the the sheetmetal, and I could feel it on the footrest while driving. This drove me absolutely nuts! I thought something had come loose on my truck and promptly brought it to my mechanic. He immediately found the problem, replaced the little plastic screw thingy for free, and didn't charge me any labor.

    I hope this helps! :)

    Hey thanks for the quick reply PennSilverTaco. I started reading and quickly entered WTF land. :) Was your thump a solid thump? I have something that is under the footrest area but it is a very solid thump as though something is hitting the floorboards. Can't imagine that a fenderwell flap would do this. I am thinking perhaps cab mounts are worn so that is what I am going to try next. OF course it never does it when my mechanic checks it.

    Naw, no way that would cause my thump. Mine is if I hit a bump just the right (wrong) way; almost as though a suspension part was unattached or VERY loose.

    The thump was so pronounced in my truck that I thought my struts were worn out!

    @ffergie, does your truck have a lift kit or anything, or is the suspension totally stock?

    @Taco critter, perhaps you can give some insight as to what might be causing the thumping in his truck?

    @ffergie

    I actually knew that lining/flap in my truck was loose, but the noise/feeling was pronounced that I didn't think it was the culprit.

    Bilstein 5100's and a leaf upgrade; other than that, stock. I'll have to have a look at that flap. When did it make the noise on yours, bumps or all the time?

    Weird. Like I say, mine only does it if I hit a bump just right and it doesn't have to be a very large bump.

    Sounds like the death wobble common to Dodge trucks and Jeeps! But that was typically stock suspension...

    Oh well. It is in the general area of the front cab mount so that will be my next step, to replace the stock with poly mounts. I appreciate your info.
