Nice pic. But can you explain what I'm looking at , and what are you trying to accomplish.

My inquiring mind wants to know.

What about one of the roof strips?
I just noticed that the passenger side one has come off a bit right where it meets the back window glass.

I liked the blankness of it.

It's my best idea on how to control the height adjustment of the seat manually, one knob for the front of the seat, one knob for the rear of the seat (one knob for each end of the seat that faces forward). There isn't a location on the side of the seat for a manual adjustment to go through the seat frame without drilling (trying to keep it a plug and play install for when I planned on selling them). There is room for an electrical switch for a power seat control on the side of the seat.

Maybe, but the roof strips aren't sealed to begin with, they just sit in the grooves with press-fit sections at each end of the roof. If the front or rear glass leaks it's not because of the roof strips. When you pull them out to do anything there's plenty of dirt that gets under them.

I've never had to mess with those strips on the roof and have only read about them. I've read that roof racks use existing holes and that those strips are cut in order to install a rack that wasn't there before. You wrote that those strips just sit in the grooves. That means something besides the strips is sealing those pre-existing roof rack holes. I don't know what seals the holes but anything is possible, especially a seal leaking under a roof strip that isn't sitting flush in the first place. Something made that strip not sit flush, what was it, and what else happened at that time is what I personally would look into if it were my truck. From what I've seen, 99% of the time it's the windshield leaking.

The pre-existing holes on double cabs have a tape/membrane over them. Mine's an access cab so when I added ditch channels I needed to drilled my own holes. It's possible but pretty unlikely that something could break the seal without removing the strips so my money would be on the glass seal instead. The rubber roof strips have a metal core strip that would make it hard to penetrate the seal even with a hammer and an awl. More likely would be a manufacturing defect if one did leak. The seals are installed before paint.

They are always sold out, the only way you can really get ahold of one is a member selling theirs which is how i got mine :D I modded the pull bars to fit and got longer hardware from home depot as the provided screws are not long enough to accommodate the handle and rack.

So random question. Is there, yet, a "plug and play" Access Cab roof rack? I mean one that you can just drill into the skin to mount vs having to cut and trim things off the rack itself to make it fit. I seem to remember Prinsu makes one, but are there others?
