Opened the garage door and a big gust of wind pushed the girlfriends bike that she just leaves resting against a wall. Bike fell over and the center of the handlebars slammed into my rear quarter panel leaving behind a nice dent.

I took apart the back seat and you can’t get behind the dent. There’s a thin layer of aluminum that blocks being able to get behind it for standard PDR. I could probably live with it just being a scratch but being a dent it will eat at me and I’m sure it’ll affect some value when if I’m to ever sell it. I like keeping my stuff in the best shape.

Anyone who works in auto repair able to measure out how much I’m probably going to have to pay to get this fixed?

Have you tried sending the picture to a local paintless dent removal place? They would be the best place to start even if you don’t think they can do it. I have seen those guys work some magic.

Yep, they may be able to fix it, and touch up the paint. A good body shop will be around $300 to make it go away completely.

All of the places near me that I know do PDR are either someone off of Craigslist or Facebook market place or they team up with a body shop and come by at appointments. This also just happened a few hours ago so wasn’t really time for it.

I’m going to call a guy who got a dent out of my hood before and see what he says. He works for a high end dealer but also does independent stuff on the side.

$300 is easily worth it to me. I just spent about $430 getting the fenders on my Jeep corrected and painted.

Oh that 1/4 panel has to get cut out and have a new piece welded in place. Then they have to paint the passenger side of your truck.so it all blends in.you should sell your truck and buy a Ford they don't dint as easy.

Body shop will charge way more than $300. Unless you are taking your $35k truck to Maaco. Source: I work at a body shop.

Edit: Definitely get a few PDR guys to look at it first.

Surprisingly it’s a cheap Walmart bicycle. I don’t know if these trucks are just that soft or I just got lucky.

Yeah, I'm no body guy, but that's in a bad spot, and any good body shop won't come close to cutting metal, or blending paint for $300. That's Bondo-Ronie touch up spray paint price range.
