Hi all, I’m considering selling my 2018 TRDOR 4x4 MT with 26k miles in Florida sometime this year. The truck has tech package.
No accidents, clean title, well documented service history with early oil changes, diffs flushed, and transmission fluid changed. Currently has F5s and TRD skid but also have the stock wheels and skid that I can either revert to or just include.

KBB has the price range at 29.9k-32.3k. Carvana and Vroom offered 26.5k and 27k, and dealers have offered similar on trade in.

What would be a fair price to list or sell at?

    Thanks for any insight.

Return it to factory original before selling.

What do you plan on purchasing?

That’s the plan but I’ll leave the 265/75 all terrains.

    90% sure a TRDOR 4runner

If you have a Carmax near you, get a quote. List on every site possible. Ebay, CL, Offer up, Autotrader. I would list at $32k.

With that mileage, I would settle for $29-30k. Sooner you list it the better. If you have gap or extended warranty, they usually transfer to the new owner.

The initial depreciation has already happened. I plan to keep mine for 10 years, then sell for $20k+.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
You will get a lot more selling private vs trading in.

thanks! Really looking to just be above what the dealers have offered + tax break you get to trade in which is right where you mentioned.

Does FL have a trade in tax credit? I'd try sourcing a better trade in quote from the dealer, that's pretty low. For instance, Jun 2017 got $32k for my 2017 TRD OR with 13k miles, Dec 2019 got $33k for my 2017 TRD OR Tech/JBL/Prem with 11k miles, May 2019 got $35k for my TRD OR Tech/Prem with 8k miles, July 2019 got $35k for my TRD Sport tech/prem with 3k miles, Nov 2019 got $33k for my TRD OR bare bones with 6k miles. I did have to work and put other dealers against each other to get the last 2 trade numbers. I do remember Carvana and even carmax being stupid low. If you can get the dealer up to $29-30k may be worth it in the savings moving to the T4R. I'd go back to stock though as dealers will offer you more as they can sell it certified, plus no one wants someone elses mods. Private Party I think you'd be good starting at $32k and going from there, seen ones stock similar in my area wanting $34k. GLWS.

Thanks, I was just reading about how you’ve had a ton of Tacoma’s haha. Good info!

That trade value was offered by 3 different dealers. I think it’s the miles that sets our examples apart. 7% tax, tax credit amounts to 1800 dollars or so.

I don't think it's the miles, you just got to catch them at the end of the month or with something they have too much of I think..

Okay gotcha. Ya and I think the market is starting to get saturated. My first few were a personal friend in AZ who was the fleet sales manager so I got hooked up with my fiscal irresponsiblity when it came trade in and invoice pricing. This last truck I had to do it my own in IL and it was rough, a month of back and forth with multiple dealers, think I just got lucky this time around. I'd try private party and maybe start at $31k, I'd definitely go back to stock and sell your parts, I've had a few lifted a few stock, the stock ones always get better trade in values along with more interested buyers, mods limit your potential buyers.

This or have a friend who is the fleet sales manager at a large volume dealer. Last truck I definitely think it was end of month thing, walked in on a Sat evening the week of Thanksgiving, had been going back and forth with a few dealers for awhile, had all my quotes saved as firing power, even walked out when the sales manager laughed at my offer, 10 mins later got a phone call to come back and make the deal. Tacomas aren't real popular here in the Chi town burbs, harder to push so I think that had something to do with it too.

For what its worth i just traded in my 2017 4 door sport for a 2020 off road. Had 54k miles they gave me 29.5 for the trade. And 2k bonus cash towards the new truck.

I think it’s because I went in and negotiated them to their bottom dollar on the vehicle I wanted and the only way they could recoup some profit was by a low trade in. Hence why I’m exploring private sale so I can get the best cash price deal next time around.

Ya the sales manager was not happy, my sales guy just wanted to go home and have a drink, betting they just needed the sale to meet numbers.
