Look at the numbers of vehicles sold with manuals, their dieing out, quickly. Not that I hate them, just hate them in big rigs really.

 

They're dying out because manufacturers want them to die out.

Oddly enough, I believe it's either Honda or Mazda actually saw an increase in manual sales this past year (2019/2018)

 

Its the driving distraction im sure is what their reasoning is.

 

If they wanna reduce distracted driving, they should get rid of autos. People would have to put their phone down and drive, especially in town.

 

Or it's just that modern automatics are good, very good, and I would imagine it's cheaper from a manufacturing and r/d point to only worry about one or two transmissions per vehicle, instead of 3 or 4.

 

Putting manuals wont fix that problem bud. they`ll shift, then grab the phone all over again. OR if they were smart, put a phone lock in place if the phone detects motion, it cannot be used?

 

you are assuming people can drive manuals. Considering the number of people that struggle to drive an auto, they’ll need their full brain and then some to drive a MT
