look what I found while cleaning up my work bench. It landed in this little case 3 feet away from where I was working on it. Now I must decide if I want to take it all apart to put the missing piece back. 2EEE4466-CE7B-4626-8A12-509AE8AA5F8F.jpg

haha, Toyota bought a batch of raisin rejects and had to find a use for them I guess.

If you do take it apart and put the "raisin" back in place- can you take a photo- of the where its supposed to go.-

I did the Chrome Delete and I must have lost this little dude because turning the knob is now loose.

If you watch the install video, at the 2:55 mark, it would be in the last piece he’s holding. There Are 2 springs with those little pieces on top of them. If I take it apart I’ll get a picture. But look on the back of the dial when you have it all apart.

Yea now I'm in the conundrum of wanting to get it right versus the hassle of having to take everything apart and trying to figure this out. OCD versus Lazy Bone. I give the edge to the Lazy Bone.

Mine works fine with the piece I used as replacement, but I’ll still probably replace it with the real piece. It’s rounded so the dial turns a bit smoother. Guess this weekend is a good time to fix it.

If Toyota sells this "Raisin" I imagine it would be $10.95 plus shipping -

yea, I’m sure with more time you could make something that works perfectly, Hard plastic with rounded ends like a very tiny hotdog, looks like some lubricant also. Doubt Toyota has a separate part number for the missing
pieces. And clearly the majority of people don’t have them fall out. Just us unlucky few

Do you have smart entry on your truck? Curious as the description lists it without. I am not sure if there is some strange part that the chrome ones or ones with Smart entry require.
    Thanks!

I have the smart entry. Don't think that has anything to do with the interior handles whatsoever, just the exterior handles. Which act as a switch to trigger the door unlock/lock mechanism.

Maybe - since I've taken that part of the dash apart now 3 times. The time consumption will be in making something from (a "raisin") with no concrete examples except the ones shown on TW.
I do appreciate your confidence in my mechanical ability tho- :smokertransformer::transformer:
