I’m looking to get some new UCA’s soon. My truck is currently sitting on a spacer lift that I’ll be replacing once I’ve collected all the parts I need. Currently I’ve got some OME 885’s on Dobinson’s shocks for a total of 3” of lift. I’m running 295/70-17 Geolander MT’s. I’m cheap, so I’m hoping to not break the bank on these, so any feedback along those lines would be appreciated.

I think the Freedom Offroads are the least expensive, around $300 for the pair.

Those are interesting. I’ll need to do some research on them. Thanks for the suggestion.

I ended up using JBA High Caster but I was considering those Freedoms. I liked how the JBA's use a very common Chevy truck ball joint (and not having uniball!) and I liked their bushing design.

Hey guys, I'm a newbie so, I too is budgeted but after having the Pro Comp spacers for 2 years thought it's time for a change and slight upgrade. I googled for an inexpensive lift and somehow I ended up in TW and been doing some crazy reading for the last month haha. Two week ago, I found a listing for a set of Bilstein 5100 with the OME 885 from a 3rd Gen with less than 5k miles and in an excellent condition for only $200. Installed the struts and shocks and left 1" block in the rear. I got the Freedom OR uca last week from Extreme Terrain, installed it and they feel and ride much better than stock. I don't do any OR so this setup will be enough for the time being.

How severe was the angle with your OEM UCA, curious since I am looking to do a 3" and currently am deciding if it's worth buying UCA's or not? or did you do the swap at the same time?

You can get re-branded SPCs under the name Mevotech for a lot less than what new SPCs go for...they're the previous design before SPC switched to forged arms and raised the price. Rockauto actually sells them

I ran the freedom offroad arms for about 6 months. Then switched to JBA and never looked back. JBA all the way

I installed the 5100 first but, I also went with the 265/75/16 and had like 1/2" clearance from the stock uca. I didn't want to risk it so I went with the slight upgrade from stock. I had no problem with the angle because I only got 2" of lift give or take with the 885. I guess you can say I'm a poser haha, I just like the style and look. I don't plan on doing any OR but these are much better than stock.

I installed SPCs and have had no issues with them. I did see the mevotech ones on RockAuto and thought they looked awfully similar.

Yeah I think they're just leftover stock from the former SPC arm design, before they went to forged arms a couple years ago

Were they just sketchy, or did you have problems with them too?

I have a set of SPC UCA's new in the box. Decided to go total chaos, but DM me if you're interested in them.

JBA High Caster for me too. My initial alignment had me at 3+ caster, I loved it.

I see nothing wrong with freedom for now. No built in caster but it does allow for alignment corrections. These UCAs coupled with the SPC cam alignment bolts put me in an ideal alignment spec.

If you do more hardcore offroading or flex alot jba would be a good choice. I haven't tested these UCAs with my current suspension under flex just yet.

I kinda like the freedom off road UCA's. Standard style OEM bonded rubber inner bushings (just make sure to tighten UCA bolt at ride height) and a replaceable standard style ball joint (wonder what its off of).

I rock previous gen SPC ucas (half forged half not) and got rid of the full floating spec ride bushings for their xAxis upgrade kit, no more squeaky bushings thank god. But the ball joints are still tight and smooth after 60+k miles
