Just gotta know what you’re getting into and what things are worth

Damn that’s a project. Apart from a tune up I haven’t had to do much mechanically, granted I’m a Detailer so just go to town on the interior and exterior.

 

sometimes just a good detail and an oil change will do it for most to sell them on a car. lazy people out there

Really though it looks daunting but it really is easy with a lift at least. Took me a day to do it

 

i’d kill for a lift, i did my whole suspension in my apartment buildings parking lot with a jack and 2 stands

 

SAS it into a rock crawler. Could, thinking more romping through the desert. Just not sure if I want to throw more money at this or sell it and buy something that’s already long travel or close to it and save some money that way.
Or just say fuck it and start basic LTing the taco lol

The frame is pretty mint compared to my 04. The clear is horrendous but I’m pretty sure before me it never went offroad. Going to make your 01 LT? But it’s soooo clean now after the resto

 

Oh I know the pain. My tundras sitting on jack stands in the garage. Putting new lower control arms and fixing the cam tabs on the frame.

 

No my 01 is staying as it is. I’m talking about the frame that is coming off it. Find a body for it and lt

 

one day i’ll look back to the days of struggling to wrench on the wet pavement wondering if the whole truck will tip on me. one day...

 

I’m hoping this year to buy property to put a pole barn on and put a lift or 2 in.. I’ve got a lot of shop equipment I’ve been buying cheap at auctions... slowly I’ll get there but till then I rough it

 

True. That’s on my to do list of things to learn/do, haven’t had a need yet knock on wood.

Try doing a suspension swap between 2 trucks, that was fun. All the shocks, coilovers, and UCAs from my 04 to my 01 and vice versa. Long day, ended up doubling my jack collection

any plans for a cab mount chop or do you not rub the cab mount at all with your suspension set up? Stock UCA are still on right now right?
