nice! so much different ways to do things. I didn't even think about doing mine the way you did. That might have been good for my truck too.

Yes, they are a bit expensive, but designed good with keyed fasteners.

What are you using to protect your paint from weld splatter?

Back in my younger days I made a pipe rack for a guys truck and didn’t cover his windshield good, that was bad for him when it rained and his wipers went across metal embedded in his glass.

 

Welding blanket perhaps

 

I use a welding canvas blanket.

 

I am actually a Glazier and install aluminum framing and glass for a living. I have seen a lot of new glass ruined in our new construction from the welders and laborers grinding and welding without protecting the glass around them.

 

I believe I figured out the cause of my faulty helmet. The battery in it went out. I’d face it right into the sun, it’d darken. and the low battery light would come on. Go inside, and then it wouldn’t work. Common? Simple as just replacing the battery?

Had to do a cmc with a fixed shade today, that was annoying. Then ran out of wire halfway through.

 

Been messing with the settings a bit. I think I'm getting it dialed in way better than what the auto settings were giving me.
Almost there. Thoughts/critiques?

 

I had to replace the battery in mine last summer. Works great again.
