I use butyl for the channel, bead of silicone all around, along with a 2-4 gel silica packs. :)

Think of it this way, you're buying $120 headlights. Do you think they're going to be anything other than total shit? I bought some and took them off within a month. The light pattern was a complete joke because they don't have any care when making the reflector bowls. I went with OEM Pro headlights, more expensive and not totally blacked out, but they actually function as lights.

I thought about the silica packs.
    Where did you put them?

A few mods here and there and counting....
Just get the Tacoma TRD Sport oem headlight assemblies if you want the blacked out look. The sport model units utilizes black chrome bezels. I picked up a set on ebay couple years ago for a retrofit project for 180 used/good condition. I've seen members on here selling theirs for quite cheap time to time.

Forgive me if you wrote about this already, but where did you hide the silica packs?

I have some opt 7 Rex lights. I recently replaced the reg H1s with an HID kit. I had to splice the rubber gasket to run the thicker wires through and then sealed it up with silicone. Unfortunately somehow a small bit of moisture is still getting in lol

I figure I'll try the silica gel packs but I'm scared to drop them in and won't be able to retrieve them without opening up the headlight. If that doesn't work I'll just buy new gaskets and re-wire.

Pretty sure when you pop open the cover and remove the bulb, you can slide the silica packs under the headlight bowl.
