Currently in an AT but probably gonna be trading in for a manual in the next 6 mos. Only reason I dont have remote start on this truck is because the truck shuts off no matter what when you get in to drive (at least that's my understanding). Does this kit do that as well or can you remote start and then just get in and go without having to restart?

    Canada Eh!

Watch the video in the OP...when you enter the vehicle don't touch anything (brake or clutch), then put the key in, turn two clicks(on), touch the brake and you're ready to rock and roll.

Thanks for the quick reply. Leaving the driver door open is certainly an acceptable work around.

I certainly do understand the safety aspect of it. A friend of mine was once run over by her own vehicle (non Toyota MT, not your kit) when the remote start engaged. Thats a lot of liability on someone in your position.

Be careful guys I’ve seen those things cause havoc in electrical systems.

Really? Must have been someone else’s system, because you’re not speaking of experience from our devices. Not one of ours has “caused havoc” as you claim. Please don’t speak on behalf of our product as this is not true whatsoever in terms of our product(s). And we’re the only ones in the world with this MT kit...so you can’t compare any “havoc” you’ve seen with our exclusive MT kit.

Just received mine today, installed exactly like the instructions and video. This was actually the first mod for my taco, and the one I wanted most. Customer service from Jimmy was top-notch. Thanks @N2DesignsInc!

what kind of warranty does your product have? Most the time when you install something yourself the coverage is very limited. Even if you have a top notch product when you splice into and bypass things you increase the risk of having a problem just the way it is. When someone buys and installs this and then gets those funny little intermittent electrical problems are you going to cover the cost of the diagnostics and repair if the cause is found to be your hardware or are you going to blame it on incorrect installation? Cause I’m pretty sure if you take your brand new shiny 40,000 truck to the dealership and they see all that stuff stuffed under your dash there not going to be to inclined to help you.

If you're worried about being the 0.0001% who experiences issues, then any DIY product isn't for you man.

The only havoc mine has caused is no complaining from the wife and kids about the truck being cold.

Install took me like 20 minutes, works perfect every time.

. DIY is no problem I do all our mechanical at work at home just a different opinion based on my own experience with other products that claim to solve an issue that I don’t have.

My wife knows better then to complain about anything on my truck cause if she does I’m going to purchase something to solve whatever problem she has. They can be taught.

In this case I would most likely walk outside and start it up 5 minutes before she got in. Ok back to work have fun boys.

She usually just complains that "I wash it too much", "I modify it too much", well pretty much "I **** too much"

    **** = anything that I do

Maybe mix it up a little? Put a few upgrades on her ride. Some window tint maybe a nice little sub so she can boom boom with the kids they love that stuff even if they pretend not to. Happy wife happy life.

Nah, I tried that. I got her some 18 inch wheels for her lexus, still complained... I spend 4 hours buffing and making her truck look good, still complained.... I gave up and just tune it out now :)
