    The only datapoint I have for you lucky bastards with cams is Kelby's truck. Though he has a few extra cc's his truck is getting pretty close to the point of needing a 4" intake with the 2.6" pulley I believe he's running. I believe folks running the Kelford's (even in a stock 4.0L config) could and probably should use a 3.5" setup. If you're cammed and have increased displacement or a forged rotating assembly that can spin higher than 5800RPM or so, I'd at least plan for a 4" at some point.

    3.5".. 4" is too much except for the stroker/bored guys and even then.

    I told you it was wheel bearings! I am glad to hear you got it all worked out man. Finally, smooth sailing and another happy 2nd gen owner once again. :)

    But of course I am! I think I hold the record for longest running 2.3 owner on here. Everyone here has personal records of something now these days it seems like. Lol

    Stick to 3.5 as mentioned, I don't think the cams will move enough air to the point of forcing you into a 4 inch MAF adapter assembly. You should be good to go with the half inch larger over OE size MAF adapter setup.

    Wouldn't that just need to be an adapter in the intake tract with the MAF in the largest section? The largest section being the 3.5" or 4" adapter.

    Yeah, truthfully speaking, if cheap is the accomplishment here, you can use an enlarging coupler on your 3" intake, run a 3.5 MAF adapter then step back down to 3 inch tubing and you are good to go for real cheap. I personally wanted to change elbow size, MAF adapter size (that was a given), followed by intake size to create more of a Venturi effect on the intake and keep things a bit more uniform. It worked out great for me.

    ah that’s a decent spot. if I mounted there it’s almost protected where my skid meets. seems close to the reroute but that skid will take a beating before it would get to the fuel filter.

    There is a URD short throw shifter in the Colorado trading post for $100 if anybody here is interested. I am auto, but those things seem pretty sought after.
