Nice that's where I grew up, didn't know it was a park now. I remember when the family that owned the north end started charging admission people were pissed off .

I felt the same way the first time. I drive on the beach / sand all the time. Handles great. I haven't even made any upgrades yet. Just have to be careful "crossing" over tracks!!

Had my 2015 on the beach for the first time last weekend. Was completely impressed with it even if I froze my rear end off. Base SR5 and I didn't air down:eek:! (I did have a shovel in the back) Freeman Park as well.

Wait a stock Sr5 on the beach! No way, no how, how did you do it without CC, locking rear diff, MTS or brake booster...

IKR! it's kinda the old saying "Aerodynamic analysis shows a bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly. The bumble bee didn't read the report so he flies anyway."

Depends on the sand, soft dry and fluffy yes, more hard packed and damp maybe. Lowering pressure lengthens the tire patch (does not make it wider despite popular belief) so it gives more contact patch against the sand. At Freeman, I'll leave them at 35, but air down at the first sign of getting stuck before I dig myself in unless its supersoft and torn up. It's a lot like driving in snow.. easy application of gas and brake and 9 out of 10 times you will be fine. If I were out in the sticks I'd drop them because there might be fewer fellows with snatch straps available.

I have no doubt if you had the 6ft (LB) bed it would have become hopelessly stuck and swept away by the tide!

I'm terrified of taking my truck on the beach here in NJ. Every vehicle I've taken down there, no matter how much rinsing I've done afterwards, the u-joints have given up within a month or two after. Sand is not friendly to things like that, ball joints etc. Used to find sand in the airbox(pre-filter, but still) as well.
