I feel that these two knives are irreplaceable. I love these Cutco’s so much I hide them from the wife.

My crockpot is on its way out (I was afraid when low only got the water to 125° it wasnt gonna cut it But no decided to give it one more shot... Sous vide is its only shot at staying around now)... It was still a little tough and only cooked to about medium inside when I got home but the instant pot saved the day haha

Wish season was still open. Can never have enough Antelope or Venison.

Edit: picture posted above is not mine! Mine came out a little darker as I did not brine the same.

Not gonna lie. The animal as a whole STINKS. They have these glands in their face that secrete an oil and its pretty stinky. That being said the meat has a tinge of smell to it while raw, but cooks off pretty fast. It's my favorite meat really. My wife wants to get her hunting license next year so we can have 2 tags for antelope because its her favorite. I mean we saved Antelope backstrap for our anniversary dinner. That good lol. Some of the most tender meat I think there is. Theres tons of "rules" about getting an antelope cooled down asap because they are usually hunted in warmer months. I've only harvested one and it was 9 degrees when I killed it and brought it home so I didn't have to worry about it. My boss shot one last year and gave it to my family (his wife's family runs a farm and she only eats beef for red meat lol) he had it at the processor within 2 hours, that one tasted great too. Heard horror stories from friends that they didn't get it on ice right away and the meat had an off taste to it.

Haven't had moose or caribou before. Would like to try. My game meat check list is Mule deer, Whitetail, Antelope, and Elk (Tule and Rocky mountain). Not including small game, rabbits, squirrel, etc.

I’ve had whitetail deer, elk, caribou, bear, bison & alligator. Caribou and elk were delicious. Grew up eating deer so it’s always good.
