I believe parsecs refers to a distance. Maybe it would be more correct to say that a Vagabond Drifter lead time is about as long as it takes to cover 2.8 parsecs while riding Jabba the Hutt. Its so worth it though!

Jabba the Hut traveled in some pretty fast luxury cruisers man. 2.8 parsecs in a Hutt yacht would be a sweet ride no matter the time or distance it took...

10+ months. Safe to say a year. I ordered August 2019 and expect it August 2020. But honestly, whenever in 2020 works.

I ordered on 3/17/19. Almost almost 1 week shy of 10 months that was estimated. No word either.

Let me know when you receive a note from them. That means mine is soon around the corner.

In response to the questions about un-powder coated drifters getting oxidized, here is mine...

It's definitely in need of a wash, but no oxidation issues so far driving around Utah. All the dirt you see would come off easily, as you can tell from my hand wipe test and what the actual truck looks like.

Looks like VO is coming out with a new door option. New VO Instagram posting that says:

"Vagabond interior setup. Same layout with east/ west fridge slide and double drawer setup, while still maintaining a modular lower sleeping platform.
Why? For a different camper entry option in the works..."

What do you folks think, a barn door?

I'm guessing hatch/barn doors. I'd like to see an aluminum standard-style replacement for the stock window, too!

I think you can get an all aluminum back instead of the window now as an extra option. Is that what you meant?

Oh - that is what I meant. I didn't know that was an option! Anyone have any photos of said aluminum rear door?

    Check out the build
A solid rear window is available. It is the same window, but instead of glass there is a composite panel.

I have been asking for a solid aluminum rear door since last March, the composite one looks janky as hell in my opinion. I cant wait to have my order finalized so this thing can be built, even if it means getting a glass rear door which is totally fine. I will be adding a full black powder coat as well.

Reading this, I feel your pain. "Been there done that". Perhaps silver lining?
Whenever I speak to people about my Drifter, I mention how when speaking with Phil that he is obviously an outdoors/offroad/truck enthusiast.
I am probably revealing my very old age, but I remember an old late night commercial “I'm not just the president of Hair Club for Men, I'm also a Member". I can imagine the Vagabond team saying something very similar.
They are using their Drifters, putting them through real life tests, and accordingly making improvements.
When I picked up my Drifter, it was not installed with a Fantastic fan as ordered, but rather a Maxxair fan. The Brake light was now a LED bar. And in anticipation of offering a tent insulation package, the tent was pre-sewn with velcro.
Who knows how different your Drifter will be with mine... or the original Drifters?

So do you consider the three changes a good or bad thing?

Well, the gist of my message was "improvement", so I consider it a good thing. Somewhere within the many Tacomaworld postings may explain the reason for the change in fans and I intend to purchase the tent insulation when available.

So you're telling me I'm gonna have to sew some velcro into my tent... :p
