Just picked up some oem color matched door handles for my 2015dcsb. Are they pretty easy to put in? Thanks

Front ones are easy. Rear ones, not so easy.

For the front ones, you just pop the black ~1” plug out of the edge of the door, loosen the torx head bolt, pull the lock assembly out and then pull the door handle rearward and out. The torx bolt has a plastic clip to keep it from falling out.

I don’t have a double cab, but I’m pretty sure I remember seeing that you have to pull the door panel for the rear doors.

    Edit: Here you go.

Thanks mudd, that’s easy enough. It’s tomorrow’s project.

Looks easy and I'm getting close to ordering some new paint matched ones myself.

Here's another thread on it located in the 2nd Gen Mods sticky thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/remove-replace-door-handles-on-reg-access-cabs.41723/

Doing a quick glance I didn't see any videos on it, but there are some like this one for other Toyota vehicles (i.e. 4Runner, etc.) which appear to be similar to the Tacoma: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddWgSXESlig

Question: Are you (or anyone reading this) replacing the rubber gaskets that sit between the handles and door panels? For newer trucks like yours I'm thinking they probably wouldn't need it, but I'm wondering for older trucks like my '08 if it'd be wise to do so?

I’m not. They are more like a hard rubber I believe. I’ll treat mine with some high quality silicon and wipe clean then install handles.
