    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I can see some of your points. I don't normally run nav on my phone, normally run that on the tablet. And I also normally run an older phone for my Torque app. (I have the Torque app on my regular phone, but that's not the one I normally monitor my truck with)

That's why you use an old phone to use with the Torque app. You can leave it plugged in and it doesn't even have to be connected to service.

Then you don't have to dig it out, fire it up, turn on bluetooth... and you have a better display, customizable, and you can set it to alert you at certain parameters, just like ultra/scan guage.

eh at that point for me then it would be easy of mounting. The ultra gauge is much smaller than a phone and lighter and easier to place. Cockpit already looks like this:

[IMG]IgorsCommandCenter-65.jpg by Monte Nickles Photos, on Flickr

Not a lot of places to but a 3rd phone. Lots of places to put a gauge easily.

That's a pretty old photo. But yes that is my location in this truck. Had a scangauge but removed it. Just haven't had a moment to do it.

Eh it's not bad. The HAM is the worse since it is so low but I don't touch that much when driving very often. Plus the 5100 is very easy to use anyways due to the large touch screen.

Im not sure I could see it there. Be like the OEM clock haha

New plugs, replaced the coil pack boots, springs and gaskets, new pcv valve, new air filter, and an oil and filter change. Also cleaned the engine bay up some.
    IMG_20200110_154433114.jpg

And took out my cadillac horns. Guess the novelty wore off. Expect these in the BST sometime soon. Cough cough @Empty_Lord.
    IMG_20200110_162213086.jpg

Also made an appointment to get some new tires next week! 265-75-16 Firestone Destination AT2's. Been wanting to step up to a 32" tire for awhile now and with Firestone deal days being next weekend, Im getting $100 off. So $640 out the door not including an alignment.

For me I want to know the engine temperature and fuel trims with a glance.

Running a supercharger it’s probably more important to know the timing, fuel trims , short and long and temperatures with a glance at anytime

I had issues with the Torque App annihilating my phone's battery before I got a new phone, not so bad now. But I do like the Torque app for its numerous features and customization. I don't think I'm even using it to 1/10th it's potential but it does what I need it to do

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

You can have all that on the Torque app... and the screen is easier to read than Ultraguage. And customizable.

Corrected my original post, I get them mixed up. I've heard good things in regards to scangauge, but not so much ultragauge.

Or you can have a stand alone scanner that never leaves the vehicle. I'd prefer to not leave a phone right where everyone can see it.

That's a valid approach, I considered it for a while. In the end, I didn't want to dedicate an extra smartphone to this job, as I thought it'd increase the chances of someone breaking my window to steal the permanently mounted phone. Also a dedicated phone is more difficult to mount than a scangauge or ultragauge. And finally, I would think that you still would have to manually turn on the smartphone and the app every time, wouldn't you?

You just have to turn on the phone. If the app is the tab you have up, it goes to that app, then the phone will stay on the entire time the truck is running.

As far as worrying about someone breaking in to my truck... with all the shit in, and on, my truck, a smart phone being visible, or not being visible, isn't going to be what gets my truck broken in to.

And back to another point made earlier... you can have Torque and Nav and music running. I've done it. You can go to tabs and have all three running on their own tab and just toggle between them.

Fair enough, like I said, that's a workable option. For me, the dedicated simple device seemed easier to use, and I always have the fallback option of the Torque Pro if I need to get fancy. Different strokes for different folks :).
